  1. Ok, so I've played a lot of KSP, but there's one thing I still can't get right. How to determine the impact point of a reentry vehicle on bodies with atmospheres, particularly when using a more traditional, shallow reentry profile, as opposed to a steeper, "direct drop" profile. Are there any mods out there that take into account the planet's rotation, time to entry interface, the initial velocity at the interface point, and the ballistic flight characteristics of the entry vehicle to plot an approximate impact point, or does anybody have quick, easy way to plot it manually?
  2. I've never had a Kerbal go poof. They just go ragdoll and become uncontrollable forever. What am I missing?
  3. Careful with those Docking Port SNr's. If you're not paying attention, it's possible to install them backwards, in which case they don't work. I had this happen to me a while back. Rule of thumb, if you right click on the port you should have an option for "Control From Here". If you're not seeing that, the port is on backwards.
  4. I guess I'll be the dummy to jump in and say "I can't figure out the tablet instructions." Specifically #5. Huh? I have my Network Connection Details window up but which of these numbers am I entering? In what line do I enter them? Host, or Port? Tried multiple configurations and I'm getting no connection.
  5. Yeah, I get that. But a Cessna is heavier in the front than it is in the rear because of the mass of the engine. Yet, it flies, because the wings sit over the COM. - - - Updated - - - Ok, so I guess I AM a noob when it comes to attaching files to posts. Can someone tell me how to do that? I guess this means I'm getting old. I have to ask some youngin' how to make the VCR clock stop flashing 12:00. Did I just use a VCR reference? Crap! I know how to locate the file on my hard drive I just can't find the button or whatever to attach something here.
  6. I know that I seem like a noob because I don't post here often, but I've been playing the game since ver 0.24 (at least) so I know about fuel balancing and all that. I still think it's related to something they did to make sure capsules come down heat shield first. It seems that anything that's heavier in the rear wants to fly that way.
  7. I've seen this on an early Mk.1 design and also my latest Mk.2 design. Even set the COL slightly behind the COM to compensate. No joy. Actually flew ok on the way up, but it was a tumble and roll all the way back. Until the damn thing crashed to desktop, that is. Maybe I'll go back in and grab a screenshot later. Too fed up to go back in now.
  8. ...that Spaceplanes are really hard to control now? If your center of mass is even slightly behind the spacial center of the vehicle, then the vehicle becomes DESPERATE to flip over and fly backwards. Or such has been my experience.
  9. I am using KER, For Science, and Stage Recovery. Also a waypoint mod. I see a lot of crashes to desktop without so much as a notification. Just "Oh, hello desktop. You weren't here a second ago. Where did you come from, and what have you done with my mission that was 75% completed?" I'm seeing this mostly when flying spaceplanes in atmosphere, which means there is no quicksave. I end up in prelaunch when I restart, so the whole mission has to be reflown and frequently will also suffer another mid flight crash to desktop. I also this sometimes after clicking "Recover Vessel", but that is less frequent and not as inconvenient since it usually quicksaves after landing.
  10. Lack of effective Nav Aides is a real problem for me, particularly in EVA, where there are no Nav Aides. I find it frustrating to land close to a survey area and have no idea if I'm walking in the right direction. Also, having the Nav markers on the Nav Ball is not the best idea when the marker is below the horizon of the Nav ball. This happens when the destination is on the opposite side of the globe but is particularly troublesome when landing a vertical lander. Could we have some kind of HUD-Style visual cue to call out these locations on the terrain?
