  1. Is it possible, using this mod as kinda of layer of API translation, write a new mod for a game, using python?
  2. What else can be important: Another user, with a bit better CPU (+1gen of ryzen), and Vega64, reports 1fps Also, I've tested KSP2 with gpu-passthrough inside VM in a case of using GTX 970, and it provides 10fps after lift-off, despite this card is really old. Maybe it's kinda of AMD cards optimization problem? Or maybe not AMD in general, but Vega64 specific?
  3. Solved by buying RTX4070 instead of Vega64. Now, on same PC, in the same qemu-kvm virtual machine, ksp2 has ~22fps in the fullhd resolution, with middle preset of settings, instead of 3-4fps with resolution 1280x720 and minimal preset of settings. Ah, and I mean a launchpad just after a lift-off (what looks like is the weakest point, in terms of optimization, in the ksp2...) Looking for future optimization, to play with high preset and 4k! And glad to see my setup finally playable.
  4. Still not found a solution. Also, in order to be sure, that my software/hardware configuration is OK, I've checked, using my friends's steam, FalloutVR, SkyrimVR, Outer Worlds(in 4k) and other games which are heavy in terms of GPU load. And saw no any issues. Maybe I'll check GPU benchmarks. I have an idea, that this happens, because KSP 2 allocates too much of GPU's RAM for textures, starts to use normal RAM, and as result, slow down. Kerbin always affects fps... Any ideas how to check this hypothesises and maybe reduce usage of VRAM?
  5. Actually, it shows just one value over time: echo -n "max speed is: "; cat /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.1/0000:10:00.0/0000:11:00.0/0000:12:00.0/max_link_speed; while true; do echo -n "current speed is: "; cat /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.1/0000:10:00.0/0000:11:00.0/0000:12:00.0/current_link_speed; sleep 3; done max speed is: 8.0 GT/s PCIe current speed is: 8.0 GT/s PCIe current speed is: 8.0 GT/s PCIe No matter what happens inside the VM and with GPU. VM RAM allocation is 24GB (the host system totally has 64GB RAM). This ram allocated from one numa-node in order to eliminate any latency-related problems (without it stable and high FPS inside Cyberpunk is impossible). Physically it's PC3200 DDR4, which uses XMPP profile. Host cpu is, as I said, ryzen gen 1: it's Threadripper 1920x (12 cores, 24 threads). This VM has 10 vCPU, pinned on 5 different cores, on one numa node. So, it's looks like Ryzen 5 gen 1 without 1 core: 5 cores, 10 threads. The task manager inside windows 10 VM shows me, that rendering is not overloaded, copy is about not loaded at all, video decode is also empty. Dedicated video is full, and game started to use shared GPU memory. This GPU (AMD Vega 64) has 8GB dedicated vRAM OK, I'll change it, sorry. I've used this title, because my system doesn't have any issues not only in ksp1, but also in games which can overload GPU, like cyberpunk, or Lone Echo (VR title), or Everspace(VR), or Elite Dangerous(VR). BTW, thx for answering.
  6. Is it normal to have fps 2.5 on the configuration Ryzen gen 1, 24GB ram PC 3200, Vega64? I tried different things, like set all settings on the minimum, full hd resolution. I updated video driver to the latest version. I think, I can have ~fps 4 during launch. If I look to the sky, I have ~fps 20. In the space I have, on Kerbin's Orbit, I have ~fps 15. Any tips & tricks? Don't want to return money in steam, want to support devs. I don't have problems like this in other games. I'm not very gamer person, honestly, but other titles, they work smooth. As KSP fun, wanted to play especially in KSP2. Other details about my configuration: it's a Qemu/KVM Windows 10 virtual machine with PCI-passthrough GPU. I don't think it's somehow related, because I have stable and high enough to fps in games like Cyperpank 2077, to have them playable - I even playd in this game in 4k resolution.
  7. I agree. VR is more impressive technology. Especially for space sims. Better to support vulcan. Similar benefits, including performance and multi-threading code, but supports other platforms, not only Win10: Linux, win7, OS X
  8. Could you please add a native support for VR? It will be amazing, in one hand, create a vehicles using VR, in the real 3d, by hands controllers, and in another way, to pilot vehicles in first-person view in the VR helmet. Also to visit Duna, eve, Minmus in VR, etc.
  9. Already installed. But it's unclear which new mods are more intresting.
  10. Looks like nothing changes with mod delivery process. Ah, got it. Thank you very much! What about new mods? Something very interesting, what was created in this year when I not played in the game?
  11. Thank you guys for answers Another question. What people currently use as modmanager/modstore? CKAN? Or something new? yes What's wrong in the stock's implementation? I don't remember too. I just remember that I still used not stock implementation. Maybe because it was not in the stock in that moment or because other reasons. Also I used kOS and kOS scripts... The problem is - I used realfuel mod. Maybe I have to avoid use it (to reduce amount of mods) I don't know.
  12. Hi. I had a long brake in the game. I played in the very modded 1.4 - used TAC, KAS, KIS, relay network, real fuels, near future, preesed node, a lot of mods for an additional experiments, and a other popular modes, but not RSS. Want to return to game. What changes? Am I understand correctly, now relay network, KAS, KIS not requires because part of vanilla game, right? BTW, I bought both DLC to support developers.
  13. Hi everyone, my native language is Russian Не уверена, что у меня много времени на проект, но, по крайней мере, у меня есть опыт беспристрастной модерации под крупный ресурс, www.opennet.ru
  14. My husband bought new skylake-based PC, and give me his old PC - i7 920/12Gb RAM, asus premium motherboard. We've just upgraded it: Intel Xeon X5680 3.33GHz Hex Core / 12MB / 6.40GT/s SLBV5 Processor LGA1366 - $99.95 6 x 4GB(totally 24Gb) PC3-10600 desktop memory RAM DDR3 - US $89.94 I bought this upgrade in ebay, and now I am planing to sell i7-920 and old RAM. We made pci passthrough for new husband's PC - he use it for work, and for playing games. Now always he useLinux host system for work, watching video and other fun using skylake integrated video. But when he wants to play in video game, he runs guest PC with PCI passthrough videocard (GTX 970). Some times we fly together in the Elite Dangerous. And we want to do pci passthrough for my new computer (old upgraded husband's PC) too. I'll also use it for work and for fun - I'm devops, and I want to run/test localy cluster solutions (openstack, kubernetes, ceph, hadoop, etc). It's reason why 24Gb ram and 6 core processor in the desktop. But this PC hasn't integrated video in the CPU. The PCI pathrough systems must have 2 video cards. I want to buy some video card without coolers, to get silient solution when guest VM without pci passthrough card does not run. For example, Nvidia GT 710, or Radeon R5 230, or may beNvidia GT 730. Nvidia has better performance, but by technical reasons, I want to have different chips/drivers for the default silient host system's card, and for performance pci pathrough card. The second card has nvidia chip. Is it possible to use Kerbal Space program with this silient videocard? Is it possible to have comfort playing with R5 230 and free radeon driver in the high performance six core system with 24Gb RAM?
  15. @neitsa, thank you very much for answer. I made this. Also I push there 2 saves: 1_3_career.before_upgrade-not_broken - before upgrade space center 1_3_career_broken_after_upgrade_space_center - after upgrade space center Short link to this files: https://goo.gl/xmcMcY offtop: What happened withforum? Does raw editing now impossible? For me now doesn't works quote tags.... About alt + F12 - it doesn't work for my KSP installation.
