  1. I am having this same issue. It seems to happen almost every time I switch between VAB or the space centre or actual gameplay. Also no mods and 32 bit Windows 7.
  2. Yes, I saw from the sticky posts that they don't want to add dedicated weapons to the game, but people build them anyway.I thought it could be cool, but I know it's a long shot. The colours idea is an interesting one, as long as you kept the colours simple enough.
  3. You could do it as a hard lander type thingy. The idea is you fire it at the said planet/moon and it sticks into the surface, then sends back information. You could make the whole experiment a single part, maybe like a hybrid between a solid rocket, a probe core and a science experiment. That way, you could make the whole thing strong without worrying about things falling off on impact.
  4. Maybe you could have a 'Resource Transfer Mode' with a schematic of the station/craft, which allows you to transfer fuel/monopropellant/electric charge between parts? Also, doesn't the game remember the names of the original ships that form a station when you undock them? Would there be some way to use that to specify part of a station as an individual craft? Like the idea of balancing fuel between parts as well.
  5. So at the minute, there is only a fairly limited selection of icons you can use to identify your ship in the map. Personally, I find it slightly boring that most of my spacecraft are under the 'Ship' category, also it can get a bit confusing at times if you have lots of spacecraft in similar orbits with the same icon. I just thought it would be a pretty cool, yet fairly simple idea to expand the selection of icons for a more diverse, clearer map. One possibility is to have them in sections (e.g. expand the space station section to include different types). Here's a list of suggestions, some more useful than others: Ships - Shuttle - Cargo - Interplanetary transport - Intraplanetary shuttle - Exploration - Mother ship - Research Probes - Interplanetary - Interstellar - Cargo/transport - Intraplanetary tug - Anti-spacecraft missile? Rovers (Both unmanned and manned) - Exploration - Transport - Research - Buggies Bases - Research - Habitation - Military? - Floating? Landers (Manned and Unmanned) - Light - Heavy - Research - Rover base - Hard lander? Stations - Research station - Fuel station - Habitation station (need a better name for that) - Interplanetary staging station - Orbital construction facility - Battle station? SATELLITES - Communications - Reconnaissance - Ground Observation/Imaging - Space telescope - Orbital weapons platform? AIRCRAFT - Spaceplane - Transport - High Altitude Research - High Speed Research - Reconnaissance - Bomber - Fighter - Helicopter? - VTOL? Ships? Missiles? Anyone got any more ideas? Anyone think this is a good idea? Anyone think this is an atrocious idea and that I'm an utter cretin?
  6. Sorry to shoot you down, but Eeeloo is pretty similar to Eris as well; although admittedly its orbit is less extreme. I do like the idea of having a body with a very different orbit, what about a comet with a really eccentric one? That would also make landing a challenge if it was small and irregular enough. I like the idea of growing plants, could maybe have a greenhouse module? Unless you wanted to plant them outside, I don't see a reason for only having them on atmospheric bodies.
  7. Really cool, i'm still stuggling to make an inter-planetary orbiter!
  8. Where did you get those floating pontoon things from?
  9. If you have access to task manager, you can change the process\' priority. If you go: Task Manager > Processes, then right-click on the KSP process > Priority you can change its priority to \'High\'. This might have some effect, although it can apparently \'destabilise\' your system, but I don\'t think it\'ll be a problem, as long as you\'re not trying to run anything with KSP in the background.
  10. I reccomend the Down Under Aerospace mod, for extra fuel tanks rockets, etc. they seem to have kept the same basic balance between mass/fuel, thrust/fuel consumption etc.
  11. I\'m not sure you\'ll need all those parachutes, as Mars\' atmosphere probably won\'t be thick enough, or were they just for use on Kerbin?
  12. Looks pretty cool, will give it a try when released!
  13. And how do you go about texturing two different objects with the same image? Do you just shift the UVs so they don\'t overlap? (I\'m using blender)
