  1. Hey everybody! Since this has died down, i have started up another thread for this. Here is the link: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/46220-Kerbin-Astronomical-and-Geological-Society-%28KAS%29
  2. Hey everybody! Now that school is back in session, I am ready to get posting again. Last year, I made a thread dedicated to the photography and naming of different celestial bodies and constellations (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/27226-Calling-all-astronomers-past-present-and-future%21). Check it out to see what we have named. That thread has died down now, so I would like to create a new one, but this time, include the planets and their surfaces, as well as the moons. Please reply if you are interested. Here are the rules: 1) try to avoid naming what you discover after yourself, its not like you've spent years of your life and a lot of money to do this. 2) any vulgar names will not be accepted, try to think of something original and scientific that has something to do with what you've discovered 3) you can not rename anything someone else has discovered. If you find it first, you get to name it. Guidelines: 1) give as much info as you can on it (where you were orbiting, stuff like that) 2) try to give a description (maybe some assumed science like size, composition, and other logical information you feel like adding.) Other than that, have fun guys and lets start mapping! P.S. I will be posting my findings as i get them. Happy hunting!
  3. I was wondering, does the demo have the monoliths and arches on the Mun and and on Kerbin?
  4. Awesome! Thanks, I'll see you around the forums!
  5. I have a stock Lenovo X220 tablet. It runs the demo fine except when i'm launching large ships. do you think it could handle the full game?
  6. As you go higher up in the atmosphere, the air becomes less dense. The more you burn, the lighter you ship gets as well. These are both constantly changing during a flight. Is there a way to calculate your exponential increase in speed as the mission goes on? To make it easier, lets just do a one stage rocket launching off of kerbin. This is probably still not enough info though.
  7. A cartographer satellite, code-named "eagle eye", is currently under construction. As of now, the rate of construction has the launch slated for late afternoon today. Images of Kerbin are not scheduled to be taken for at least an hour after orbit has been achieved. Updates on progress will be posted as it is made.
  8. Due to some mishaps, the images were stuck in processing for an extended period of time. Now that we have finally gotten all of the coffee stains out of the film, I am proud to present to you the findings of the Gemini telescope and crew. The images in this publication are confirmed in what they are or what they look like and have been named. Another upload is coming with entities that are still under question or have not been named. The Shepherd's Crook: The Shepherd's Crook (drawn): The Big Dipper: The Big Dipper (drawn): More images are soon to come!
  9. New data containing multiple pictures has come in from the Gemini space telescope in near geosynchronous orbit above the impact site has just been received. This first batch of images is of possible nebulae. The Crescent Nebula: outline: The "Dancing Spirits" or the "Dancing brothers" nebula: outline: The Kidney Nebula: outline: Another batch of data containing images of a new galaxy, multiple stars, constellations, and possibly some star clusters is due to be sent later in the day.
  10. i don't have photoshop, but i do have paint.net, which should be good enough. Why?
  11. well, the map that you posted is more of a political map, with different country names, while what we are going for is a geographical map.
  12. if anyone is interested in mapping the stars and doing some astronomy, head on over to this thread! http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/27226-Calling-all-astronomers-past-present-and-future%21
  13. So is this just geology or can we submit some stuff about the stars?
