  1. I would also like an option to choose my password. I\'m distinctly unhappy about having passwords which could be linked to my financial details being sent in plain text via e-mail.
  2. I thought I'd received my confirmation, but people keep talking about 'preorder download links' and I don't see any of those in the e-mail I received. I'm confused! Scratch that, I checked back and am now unconfused. I did receive the confirmation and download links!
  3. There's a long and involved story which really doesn't matter. These days, the reason I use this username is 'because I've used this username everywhere I have an account for the last ten years, and it's MINE.' Astoundingly, it's never taken, so my handle is as unique as my actual name (which I have reason to believe is completely unique in the UK, and may well be completely unique in the USA as well...), so you can be sure that wherever you see this nick, it's this person.
  4. Pushing 31 right now. Actually going to hit it end of October. According to my parents, I've had the maturity of a typical 40 year old since I was about 3. On the other hand, I giggle madly whenever I hit the radial decouplers while the solids are still firing, so...
  5. Will, it's about time I shared my rockets. All of these are stock parts only, and I can establish orbit with any one of them. The Orbiter Mk 1. A fairly reliable ship, if a little finicky to get into orbit. :-\ The Orbiter Mk 1 Mod 1. Slightly more tankage gives a somewhat higher chance of successful orbiting. The Orbiter Mk 2. Switching to liquid fuel and adding a few solids to get it off the pad leave it FAR more reliable in terms of 'reaching orbit', but something of a thrillride in the upper atmosphere. ??? And, the Orbiter Mk 2 Mod 1. This thing goes exoatmospheric before first stage burnout. I eventually got bored with waiting for it to stop climbing, gave it a retro burn, and circularised the orbit... roughly 6000km up. The Mk 2 is... abusive towards my PC. This is a beast of a machine, and it takes until well after all the solids are gone for the framerate to get out of single digits. Jebediah LOVES it! 8)
  6. I'm Silas, and I've managed to figure out a stack which will reliably get my Kerbals into orbit. What I can't figure out is how to do more than that, or how to get them up there with more than 'just enough for a deorbit burn' in fuel reserves, but these things will come. Umpty-ump times the computing power that took Apollo to the moon and back, and we're using it to uplift little green men... ;D
