Weird Plates

I have an issue, when I switch to one of my vessels there are these weird plates sticking out of the base of a part, its stock parts doesn't affect game play its just a visual issue. They look like adapter plates but i have none on my ships.

Edit: After looking around I found its the same issue as with Engine Shrouds, is there any fix for it?

Most likely engine shrouds - most likely an upper stage engine which still has stuff attached below it. They are purely visual as you noted, and should stick to the lower stage if you decouple it.

If you have advanced tweakables enabled (and maybe if you don't, I haven't checked) there should be an option when you right click on the part in the VAB to disable the shroud.
