Hovercraft Fail and Rescue (rescue in progress)

So I built a hovercraft to go over the mountains and see the world.

It flies at like 100m/s at best.

The moons were out when I did this flight.

I'm guiding it into the mountains and trying to raise it high enough to fly.

It's not working that well.

It's slowly falling.

I'm beginning to worry about whether I will be able to get over the mountains.

It fell half a kilometre. I had to angle it through a pass, and then I had to stop its horizontal velocity completely, and then I had to wait for it to rise again, before angling it forward and taking this picture as it floated through the pass.

I see relatively flat ground over here. And it's high up. I think I'll land here and get Bob out to do some explorin'.

I'll admit that that landing took me four tries. Now to get Bob out of the hovercraft.

"Hey," said the game. "You see those parachutes right there? On either side of the pod?"

"Yeah?" I replied.

"That's where Bob needs to get out of the pod," the game explained.

"...So?" I asked.

The game replied slowly, "So, Bob is stuck in the pod."

I had come all this way and I couldn't get him out to look around?! "What? No, that can't be right!" I exclaimed.

The game adopted a mocking tone of voice. "Chute blocking pod door. Bob no get out. Bob stuck," the game riddled.

"Stop doing that voice," I said, annoyed.

"No, me good, Mission Control stuuuuuupid," sang the game in that voice.

Oh well, I thought. At least I can pan the camera around.

Actually, wait. I have a plan.

I can build a vehicle to go there and ram the hovercraft hard enough to destroy the parachute and free Bob!

The rescue:

I've built this Tour Car.

Here's the view from the inside.

The crew is Kelfel (pilot), Hanlas (scientist), and someone else whose name I forget (engineer). Let's call him U; it stands for Unknown.

This is where they are.

For some reason, the hovercraft doesn't show up on the map.

That's Kelfel. It's late afternoon and they have stopped driving for the night.

That's Hanlas' pod, and this is Kelfel's.

The sun is going down.

But this isn't just any satellite...

...it's a Jool Mission that I didn't want to send away because I wasn't sure how to design the lander for and didn't end up sending.

I also saw some debris pass by Minmus from Kelfel's pod. Here it is up close:

Kelfel is too freaked out to be able to sleep for the rest of the night.
