Operation Expansion: A different kind of KSP Story

Filler, Filler, Filler until I can think of something... It's 2am here, give me a break.

During the grand days of Kerbal Intelligence and Ingenuity they looked to the stars and planets and questioned "Why are we here?". One stood out, Wernher Von Kerman. He saw the planets as another home. He began pulling his assets, technology, and knowledge into one place, The future site of the Kerbal Space Center.

 

Chapter 1

The Kerbal Space Center is nearly complete, just a bit more riveting on the new Vehicle Assembly Building. After the riveting is done the building will go through a 4 hour inspection period.

Wernher: They really do minimalist inspections, a ceiling panel fell onto poor Bill when we was devising a way to repair parts.

Gene: Everything is going fine in Mission control? Perhaps your workers were fed up with working so high?

Wernher: Oh well, Bill is fine, I'm sure the building is safe enough to work in. So how are the preparations for Jebs launch on Mite I?

Gene: Everything is on track.

Wernher: Good.

A few days pass and Mite I is finished and inspected

Gene: Jeb you are go for launch on your count!

Jeb: First let me collect some date from the Launch Pad

Gene: We don't have time fo... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!

Jeb: Hanging from the ladder?

Gene: Get back in there right this instant!

Jeb: Fine. Pressing the button to launch right..... Now!!!

Gene: A countdown would've been nice...

Mite I Launched successfully, followed by Mite II the next day and Mite III a week later.

Gene: Olympus I you are go for launch on your count. God speed Valentina

Valentina: Why wasn't Jeb selected to be the first to orbit? I'm riding an untested, uninspected rocket to orbit.

Gene: Our math says it'll be fine.

Valentina: Our Mathematicians are fresh out of the streets...

Gene: That's Besides the point.

Olympus II Launches successfully, however just a tad bit bumpy, Valentina is in shock about what she sees.

Valentina: It is so beautiful up here. I'm Away from all of the political issues of the world.

Gene: No speech to commemorate this momentous accomplishment?

Valentina: I'm not one for speeches but our dreams of leaving the cradle are coming closer.
