Volume Issue

Recommended Posts

Howdy, developers and other persons of interest.

I'm going to get right to the point, KSP sometimes leaves ghost processes on my laptop that reduce the volume of other programs. Looking through the processes and services running on my computer I can confirm there is nothing related to KSP at all. This only happens when I get a call in Skype, so I'm unsure whose issue it is, but if you could take a look into it I'd be glad.

hi TimberWolffe, Welcome to the forum.

Ghost process from KSP ?? I really don't know what you are talking about, the KSP exe stay running after you exit the game ??

Skype can lower the computer overall volume if needed or configs to do so, maybe you better look at the Skype configs.

Regards

It leaves something running in the background which isn't a process or service so I can't manually terminate it. I'll look into the skype configs now.

I've had similar issue completely unrelated to KSP. Try rightclicking on the volume indicator in the system tray, select 'playback devices'. A window will pop up, now switch to the 'Communications' tab and select "do nohting". Save settings.

I can almost guarantee that

1) this has nothing to do with KSP and the whole idea of a ghost process sounds very sketchy at best

2) the above will fix your problem
