Today we've got all the things coming down the pipeline. From fan created 3D animation to the simplicity of lowering your part count there is surely something for you.

Another weekly developer update just for you!

Homebrewed 3D animation to make even the professional stop and look twice!

Sometimes something as simple as lowering your part count is purely awesome.

Gaze into the stars with another of Pleborian's Through The Telescope.

Developement Updates

KSP Dev Team

Felipe (HarvesteR): Rounding out what are hopefully last details after a mad week of integrating things from everyone.

Chad (C7): Integrated all the things! Added mission flags to the VAB / SPH backdrops. Made lots of changes to the balance and tuning of the SAS controllers. Spent the rest of my time testing the game and fixing bugs.

Mike (Mu): Finished implementing the whole new scene thing and the new buildings. I'm currently writing some more interesting planetary noise methods to spice up some planets.

Artyom (Bac9): Polished up the new buildings and completely overhauled the editor scenes for the Space Plane Hangar and the VAB. All of the buildings are ready for testing and finishing now.

Alex (aLeXmOrA): REDACTED: CLASSIFIED WEB DEV STUFF

Daniel (DanRosas): I'm going to start some 2D assets. And animating, animating, animating...

Rob (N3X15): Discovered that CentOS 6+WHM doesn't like compiling anything, but managed to get the forums/spaceport server ready for the move over to TokuDB. Still have to schedule it. Fixed a bunch of problems with the new status page. Upgraded my testing server from a Pentium 4 to dual quad xeons, ordered the wrong rails while I was at it.

Here is a sneak peak at what animator DanRosas has been hard at work on! That jumpsuit inspired by real space programs looks spot on!

YouTube Spotlight

Animator Tim 'McWopper150' sent me this amazing 3D fan animation through the messaging system on the forums. The bottom line here is that the attention to detail, care and hard work that went into this animation really shows. Apparently seven computers were used to render this animation. Fan works like this don't come every day so don't miss your chance to check it out because you won't want to miss it!

Modding Spotlight 1

So this is an interesting mod and one I think deserves some attention. This mod 'welds' stock parts together to form one part effectively reducing the part count on your craft. This is exciting because it could potentially help increase the performance of your machine!

Modding Spotlight 2

The Firespitter mod pack has been around for a little while now but i wanted to bring it some more attention. This pack allows you to build planes, helicopters and VTOLs using old school technology, propellers! Check it out this one is certainly one of my personal favorites.

Through The Telescope

By: Pleborian

It's quite obvious that the B9 Aerospace mod pack has quickly become one of the most popular packs of all time! With its sleek and futuristic design it's hard NOT to love it! It's not often that a single mod pack spawns an entire thread dedicated to craft created out of its own parts, and when they do they are nowhere near as impressive as THIS. If you're new to B9 and need some inspiration the this thread is definitely for you, and if you have something awesome you have created this is the best place to show it off.
