KSP Headline

So much to do and so little time to do it in! Ladies and gentlemen it seems that weekly developer updates are here to stay! And the crowd goes wild!

Your weekly developer update with all the little tid bits and project information you want!

Kerbal Space Jam, aww yeah!

Sometimes things as simple as following the leader can put a huge smile on your face.

Look beyond the mundane with through the telescope.

Check out a sneak peak into what Artyom has been working on for graphics.

Developement Updates

KSP Dev Team

Felipe (HarvesteR): Spent the last 4-5 days setting up the inner workings of the new crew management system. The game finally handles crew in a way that makes sense!

Chad (C7): Completed working on the SAS logic. Finally got it to a place I’m happy with. Spent the weekend working on the new Tracking Station building. Working on finishing up loose ends from the transition to the new SAS and Reaction Wheel systems right now.

Mike (Mu): I’ve been implementing Artyom’s new buildings and completing the move over to using the new scene setup systems.

Jim (Romfarer): Finished the new launchpad/runway dialogs and the crew management gui’s.

Artyom (Bac9): Worked on the new space plane hangar. A highlight of that one would be the control tower. SPH building isn’t just a hangar, it has a warehouse, administrative block and all the other appropriate clutter, - but now, most importantly, it has a pretty fancy control tower, fitting for an airport. Why was that small island airport enjoying the luxury of having a control tower while we are forced to call VAB "the tower" in our glorious space center? Well, no more: buzzing can now be performed around more appropriate building! In other news, helped with the new tracking center, finalized the VAB & crew center building, and played with improved roads a bit.

Alex (aLeXmOrA): REDACTED: SECRET WEBDEV PROJECT

Daniel (DanRosas): I’ve been animating for the past few days since last week’s Weekly.

Rob (N3X15): Setting up a network status page we “borrowed†from an open source project so I’m not spamming up the devblog with server fire reports, etc. Most of the work involved is rewriting templates from Smarty to Savant, fixing shoddy Javascript, graphic design, and a few other things. Should be up soon. Another project is setting up bandwidth monitoring on the servers so we can identify problematic designs. Also reorganizing my home office so it’s no longer a dorm-y nightmare, setting up new testing server (including ordering speciality screws, which was an unexpected nightmare), and continuing to fix Spaceport. Considering doing a wiki software update, as well.

YouTube Spotlight

So this little gem has made a 'slam dunk' in the YouTube community and quite literally as well. Do any of you remember a movie starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes? Well this video doesn't star any of those cast members but that doesn't stop it from being awesome! Seriously check this out as i'm fairly certain this is going to be the next viral KSP video.

It's weird the effect that such a simple game can have on a person. This week's Through
The Telescope takes a look at one of these individuals that some of you may have never heard of.

This is a parody video done by the KSP Media Group's latest member LeGoldFish and as you can see
the influence of Jeb is strong with this one! With your help it can be even stronger so head on over to this guys channel and hit that subscribe button.

Editor's Notes

Do you have a cool fanwork, video or screenshot you think is worthy of being featured in the KSP Weekly? If so send them to either myself or forum user Pleborian in a forum message. Make sure any links you provide us are official threads from the KSP forums and YouTube video links only. So if you have a cool picture, video or fanwork make sure it's a public thread before you send it our way, thanks!

I didn't forget about that promised sneak peak! We have a picture snuck out of the new building hangar by a brave, anonymous kerbal as well as the view at dawn of the Space Center of Tomorrow, today! Sadly that picture could only be obtained after said kerbal had digitally added nonsensical gas clumps to the sky that just look weird.
