  1. Ok, I've tried every single one suggested so far. Mcafee doesn't like any of them. It comes up with the same message every time, asking for an administrators password. I think my parents are looking for new internet security and virus scanner software - mcafee has been bugging all of us, as well as windows 7 (I mean, how in the world does a faster computer mean that there's an error?). I think a new computer is needed - let alone anti-virus software. Shame we can't afford one yet...
  2. ok, as the name suggests, this thread is a guessing game where you need to guess the date the next update will be released. The closest to the actual release date wins. In case of a draw, whoever lands on the Mun in 0.24 and get's back to Kerbin first is the winner (or if there's a new planet/moon, first to the new planet/moon. Great adventures!) - of course, in-game-time and no cheats or mods. 100% stock. Here's my guess to start you guys off: 27/Feb/2014 Remember to give your dates in the same format as me.
  3. Ok, I don't want to take a, what you call, 'Foot-Ball' to the munar-foot, but I do want to send a rover to investigate
  4. Here are my planet suggestions, along with a description if it is ever to be implemented into the game: Planets: Zevis: An average sized gas planet (about 4,000 km in radius) that is a very light blue planet. It has also got some faint rings - you need to have Zevis in an eclipse with the sun for you to see them (maybe?). Zevis is the only planet to spin backwards that kerbal-kind know of. Kosuno: This planet is meant to be a gas planet, however it is rocky - suggesting it is made of a very light material. The planet is very large (about 2,000km radius and has about 13G). Many kerbals have speculated if this is the new home for a new, evolved kraken - known as the 'Kutov' that can destroy ships if they venture too close to it's territory. Moons (the planet the moon is orbiting is in brackets) Sevis (Zevis): Thought to be Zevis at the time, kerbals discovered this moon in a new, high powered telescope. They were disappointed, as they thought it could see smaller and more distant objects. The moon is as blue as Zevis, but has a terrain and a faint atmosphere (almost a vacuum at the surface) Soria (Zevis): This moon has shown great potential as a future home for kerbals if 'kobal warming' gets out of hand. It has the largest impact crater in the Kerbol system (about 30-40% of the surface is one, giant crater), which kerbals use to call the 'kerbalist lake in the solar system', until radar images showed it to be a massive crater. What created this crater is unknown. The atmosphere is about as thin as duna's and contains ~10% oxygen Tolara (Zevis): The smallest moon in the kerbal system (about 5 km in radius, while Gilly is 13 km), the fact kerbals discovered this moon is a 100% mystery (apart from the fact that they saw it). Not much is known about this moon, so any mission her would receive more science than any other place in the kerbal system. The surface is very gravely and kerbals can sink into it if they're not careful. Havis (Zevis): This moon is only slightly smaller than Gilly (12km), but has double the gravity (Havis: 0.01g, Gilly: 0.005g). Like it's sister moon, Tolara, Havis has not been very researched and any mission would get tonnes of science. The surface is similar to Bop's surface. Ashyke (Kosuno): Ashyke is very large (about 200km radius). It is the smallest moon in the kerbal system to have an atmosphere that is detectable. It's surface is very flat and can be completely underwater at times. Vamia (Ashyke): Yes, a moon with a moon. According to kerbal knowledge, this moon shouldn't be here. They suspect it could be a Kraken egg - or even a Kutov egg. Either way, this is a very dangerous moon (about 6km radius) Zanus [pronouncaed 'Zan-us'] (kosuno): Many teenage kerbals make jokes about 'Zanus'. It may not have the best name and may have been discovered by kerbals on beer, but it is a 'proud' moon, in that it has... well, not very much, except an underground structure (easter egg? like bop's cave thing I've heard about?). Inside these structures are evendence of DNA to a life form similar to Kerbals. Could this moon be the origin of life on Kerbin? Jeb will have to wait and see what he can find in these structures. (Can I have my initials - TJP - carved into the structures if it's put in? Please?) Ok, those are my ideas. I think most of those names are quite good for planets and moons. If any of those are put in, I will be so happy - even if the surfaces of the planets and moons are completely different to what I've suggested
  5. I've tried what you have suggested, but Mcafee won't let me use them. It always asks me 'Do you want this program to make changes to your computer?" and seeing how the last time I managed to get something to work, it actually installed another internet security thing. Which was really annoying.
  6. I have been watching many youtube videos of KSP, and I've always wanted to make youtube videos myself. However, I can't download a capturing device that will allow me to record good videos for free without it being blocked by mcaffee security or giving me 100 ads a second. Having one built into KSP would be mazing for me and probably some other people. I can understand that if the devs don't want to put it in, but if someone could at least give me a screen capture device I could use or a mod (if there is one)? thanks
  7. Thanks for pointing that out - just edited it so that you can't get infinite points
  8. So, I went onto the KSP wiki and saw campaign called 'Joolieo'. As this was not a created page yet, I thought of a mission to fit this mission. And here it is: Challenge: Build a rocket that will send a probe, called Joolie, to Jool to investigate it and it's moons. It is recommended that you get some sort of mapping equipment, such as the ISA mapsat mod, so that the moons can be mapped. As well as this, you need a decent probe to gather data about the atmosphere, including it's temperature, pressure and (if you have a mod for this) it's composition (what it's made of) Rules: You can use, if you wish, mods recommended above and KW rocketry. Remote tech is not recommended for beginners, but can be used by more experienced players. If you wish to use any other mods, ask before launch. It must at least partially map Laythe, Vall and Tylo from fly-bys (you can also map Bop and Pol if you want to, but this is not a requirement). When you have completed your mission, de-orbit Joolie to burn up in Jools atmosphere (option to use deadly re-entry for experienced/intermediate players). Points 1 point for every mapping sweep of Laythe/Vall/Tylo (until you map the whole moon) 1 point for each science pack on your decent probe and orbital probe (must be activated) 2 points for entering laythes atmosphere for areobreaking (must be at least 45km into lathes atmosphere) 2 points for entering Jools atmosphere for areobreaking 5 points for areobreaking in both Jools and laythes atmospheres 50 points for mapping at least 95% the surface of Laythe/Vall/Tylo each (max. 150 for this bit, does not include the 'every mapping sweep' bit, so you can get much more than 150) 10 points for adding a Laythe/Vall/Tylo lander (must land safely) 20 points for adding a Laythe/Vall/Tylo rover (must drive 5 km from landing site and re-activate after 1 night) 40 points for adding a Laythe/Vall/Tylo lander-rover hybrid 10 points for a cool screen shot in orbit around Jool 10 points for a screenshot while near each moon of Jool (max. 50) If you have used deadly re-entry, you get 35 points if you manage to survive re-entry I expect points to be in the 100s for beginners, 1000s for experienced players. I might even add one of the screenshots as a wallpaper for my PC. This is one of my first challenges (second one - my last one was about a space station and it turned out it was bad, so I tried again), so if you need clarification, ask. Enjoy!
  9. 1. You can have batteries. 2. the 2.5m stock orange tanks 3. They do count to the fuel module score. I haven't seen the HOME pack, so i'll check it out.
  10. President Jeb has recently given his speech to the world about the great triumph of the first Kerbals to walk on the Mun. Towards the end of his speech, he proposes that Kerbals will build a space station in a 200km orbit around Kerbin within the next week. With this target, the kerbals of KSC decide to accept this challenge (someone in the audience yelled out "CHALLENGE ACCEPTED"). THE CHALLENGE: - Launch a core into a 100km orbit, then boost it to a 200km orbit - You may not have any power generators on the core (I.E - no solar panels or generators) - You can also not have any Kerbals in the core (You can put them on the launcher, but they must be returned home before the next module is put on) - Dock a power generator to the core - Dock at least 2 habitation modules (each being able to hold at least 8 kerbals. HARD MODE: 20 kerbals per module) - Dock fuel 10 modules onto the station - at least one must be an orange tank - Dock a lander to go to the Mun OR Dock a SSTO space plane - HARD MODE: Using no nuclear rockets, send the space station to Duna - HARDER MODE: Using ion engines and 0.5m engines, send the station to Jool - EXTREME MODE: Using ion engines and 0.5m engines, send the station to Jool via a gravity assist from duna - NOTE: the above harder modes do not count for the week (it takes a year to get to Jool at least without cheats). Just be sure to have a completed station around Kerbin - You can use mechjeb, but only for docking. - Use any modes you want, except for HyperEdit - If you are using the alternis Kerbol mod, have a lander on the station and land it on the new Tylo Post screen shots/video of as many stages being docked as possible.
