  1. Sorry if this has been suggested before! I think it would be fun to have a better ability to do entire missions in first person view. Imagine the challenge of landing a lander using only the window and the navball/instruments. Or imagine your big 400 tonne spaceship which currently takes about 25cm of screen space, suddenly seems colossal as you EVA from the cockpit at the front to a lander in the rear. It could really make the game more immersive. But the requirements for that would be a readable in-cockpit map, easier to read instruments, some way to see the distance to other ships, and a new camera part, which you would put all around the ship so you could see the status for staging etc during launch. I don't think its likely we would get it, as it would be hard to use for novices and squad probably have more important things to do! But I can dream.
  2. Mohole asteroid golf? Is such a thing possible?
  3. Maybe by "business function" he meant that it is wrong to look at Sales as a function on its own. Maybe it needs to be integrated more with the other functions or such?
  4. By the way I saw a you tube the other day where someone made a room into a "holodeck" people were playing on the oculus in a virtual room exactly the same dimensions as the room they were in, and it tracked their position within that room. I imagine the future of laser tag, games, and possibly movies is a scenario where you are walking around a large area or building pre-set up for what ever game or scenario you are in. I like that much better than being harnessed and scrabbling your feet like Fred Flintstone driving his car! It would also be weird to put your hands up to feel a wall in a game and there actually is one there! An abandoned factory could be an abandoned space station!
  5. Maybe they want to diversify enough to become another Google (ie a big tech firm with its fingers in a lot of pies). Goodness knows there is a risk in being mainly involved in just being Facebook (which itself may become obsolete over time). And Google is successful even though they do evil things now and then (especially privacy), we still end up loving Android, Chromecast, Google Maps, Google Earth etc.
  6. I would say generally mature, but having said that, I bet the 12 year old me would have been all over this!!
  7. He is in an accidental polar orbit around Eve in a ship designed when I was such a dumb noob.
  8. And you hope he doesnt turn too quick for his velocity bubble.
  9. Thank you, I could only lift 5 half sized tanks until I saw the thread called "Pancake vs Sausage" (or something like that). And I realized my tendency to build wide rockets needed to be taken a few steps further. I had actually wasted months in the game trying to create a super heavy lifter, then I read that thread and got four tanks into orbit after only an hour. The other secret was creating a central core of super strong fueselage sections (the ones that look like jet fuel), everything just strutted on to that!!
  10. I am working on a mission to the Moholes with (possibly refuelable) RCS sleds (little hoppers). I suffered a setback when my landing crane crashed on a test mission to the Mun. I am also exploring the entire surface of Bop until I find the dead space Kraken (setting flags in a 10km by 10km grid so I know where I have searched).
  11. I never appreciated at first that when docking you can just thrust towards an object with RCS and then adjust the velocity bubble on to the target so you can go straight in (provided you already had both craft pointing north south or such). Its about a trillion times easier than doing it by eye. My advice to Padawan-Kerbs is "the Navball is your friend".
  12. When you are sitting in a classroom and imagining a tiny rover descending all the way from the ceiling to a desk somewhere. When you watch "Gravity" and get annoyed at things that arent possible!
  13. Hi there all, Ive been playing for getting on for a year now (and reading this forum for a while too). I finally decided I wanted to contribute to thread so here I am! Game philosophy: I like to play stock only at the moment and I like to do more complicated explorations rather than a quick landing and return home. Biggest achievment: Either getting to Jool or lifting 4 orange tanks to orbit to use as modular fuel sections for my modular interplanetary ships (500 tonnes and laggy when leaving orbit). Future plans: Decending a Mohole in an RCS sled that I have been testing. Future plans: If the asteroid thing is free to play I would like to put one in a very very low munar orbit before building a base on it (if such a thing is possible). What is it about this game that I enjoy watching other people like Scott Manley doing things on you tube as well as doing it myself!!! Never had that for a game before!
