  1. Can you dock to a station in orbit? We cover that in part 11. With the 0.24 update coming soon, trying to cover all ground and prepare for the challenge of contracts.
  2. Since we landed on Mun, we can now land on Minmus in Part 10.
  3. Part 9 takes us to the Mun surface to take a stroll in the low gravity landscape. Can we get back to Kerbin?
  4. Here are some old pics of the asteroid jet. I built two versions. One that landed successfully (the second one I built), one engine broke off because my nose was too high, but I did eventually land it and take off again (takeoff video on my channel). The first one I built was a semi-success in that it flew just fine, but the landing gear was too short so it was a very rough landing. The second ship I fixed the landing gear problem... Take note the Kerbal standing on the front wing. This gives relative size and proportion of the asteroid jet: Construction in space... using claws: How the parts were assembled: First jet that was semi-success: A crash a pilot can survive in. No wings since the asteroid rolled off the runway: An original design that just didn't work at all and I had to start over:
  5. Part 8 goes over something a lot of KSP players already know, but new players should learn... Asparagus Staging:
  6. With mods, anything is possible. Without mods, maybe. It would require some major parts. Other people suggested making similar to biplane models (two sets of wings) to help maintain lift. Shear weight is an issue and would need plenty of thrust just to keep her up, but at least there is more surface to work with on larger asteroids. Problem with more thrust is it is easy to put the asteroid into an uncontrollable spin. Make sure there are plenty of control surfaces. I added a requirement to the challenge, though, and that was the jet has to be able to take off again. I have the video of that on the same channel of this video. To take off again with a bigger asteroid would be the hardest part. You would definitely need plenty of extra long gears to make sure the belly of the asteroid doesn't bottom out on the runway. I'm at work too, so I can't send those screenshots just yet, but I have some from a previous jet that worked, except I forgot the extra long gears on that one
  7. It may be a Class A asteroid, but how I brought it back is the challenge I enjoyed. The only Mod was for Kerbin clouds, no other mods nor mechjeb:
  8. How about the Mun? Everyone wants to go to the Mun. We can get into it's orbit in Part 7 of the series!
  9. Part 6 covers more details on orbital maneuvers. Traveling in space is not always a cakewalk, but let's make it as easy as possible!
  10. Part 5, what new Kerbals strive for in the beginning, is getting into orbit! Learn to make your way into space...
  11. Part 4 covers more on suborbital flights because, apparently, the ship I built wasn't going to make it into orbit .
  12. Making our way to different Biomes, eventually reaching one of the ice caps in Part 3 of the series!
  13. Here is Part 2 of the series working on accomplishing smaller objectives to unlock technology.
  14. Howdy Kerbal fans! I'm working on a playlist following career mode from the beginning to help players who are new to the game. It was suggested by L3GO to post the videos in the forums for everyone so I'm doing just that. If you think this thread needs to be posted in a different place in the Forums, please let me know. My first three videos I was unsure weather to make my videos for beginners or for fans who already know their way around, so instead I recently decided to make two separate playlists and making two separate video playlists, playlist for beginners in career mode and another just for fun using sandbox. I will try to keep up with posting the videos here in this thread of the forum. As many of us know, this game has a bit of a learning curve. So for all you new folks, enjoy! Playlist URL: Here is the first video of the series:
  15. Alshain, that gives me an idea! I'm now thinking of making an Orbital flail or something of the like with Asteroids, lol.
