  1. One caveat: Hard drives don't work in space. At all. They just..don't. NASA made a big mistake. Can you have SSD's instead? Also, I think that having storage like that is slightly OP as it degrades the purpose of a probe. How about a slight background drain, sort of like a probe core?
  2. One month necro not too bad, but here's my suggestion: Lay off on the direct vision of complex attributes, e.g don't have a bar that says "BOB HATES JIM. STEVE LIKES TO BITE JIM". Instead, integrate the Kerbal Face Expression System (the facecam) and possibly positioning in the capsule, and the kind of capsule. For example, sitting in a hitchhiker next to your friends might be more valuable than sitting near your enemies in a mk. 1 for years. Also, have news clips. For example, clicking on "crew report" can give something like this, or possibly something like "Emotional Report" Jeb and Bob are getting along, but Bill seems saddened by something. When Jeb asked Bob for some snacks, Bob gave them happily. Bill, seeing Jeb not asking him for snacks, frowns." As you can see, both Bill and Bob have the admiration effect towards Jeb. Jeb is friends with Bob. Bill is admiring towards Jeb, but this causes hatred towards Bob. Bill is lonely, missing his friend Kirrim. Subtle things like this can let you in, and hopefully let you try to mediate by promoting, etc.
  3. I would LOVE if these two parts were added/modified: -Radial Separators (Great for radially attaching probes and rovers without the unbalancing decoupler) -Oscar B- NEEDS to be radially attachable like the rest of the tanks, you won't believe how much this bugs me. Also, I'd like a small buff on it's fuel capacity.
  4. This really isn't a bug report, but just for the record: Modded KSC 64-Bit Linux (Main mods in use: SCANSat, Firespitter) 0.25.0 - So, I decided to find the second KSC after setting up a multi-satellite array in the queerest orbits. Whatever, I went to the anomaly location, which I had a *rough* idea of before SCANSat---only to find nothing. I did it correctly, at least? What gives? The plane I used was a solar/electronic plane with Firespitter electric propellers, mainly because I was far too lazy to use my long range, already built, probably circumnavigational craft. (And also because the electric engine HAS REVERSE! (Helps on steep landings) Here are some images for your chewing pleasure: *please help me find it* <3 Imgur:
  5. First off: No HyperEditing. No MechJeb, the final craft was 100% stock. (I used MechJeb on the lifter because I was lazy and didn't want to bother to launch it into orbit, I instead milled about and worked on homework.) No savefile, part editing, or the like. It even obeys the laws of physics, as it is massless, and therefore has no kinetic energy, obeying relativity, blah blah blah... ---- How it was done: A 100% massless craft was made. This craft consisted of: 1 G-Meter (the science instrument) a cubic octagonal strut A lot of 0T-10 monoprop engines. This was launched into orbit by a regular chemical lifter. Once it was in orbit, infinite fuel was turned off, the lifter's engine was shut down, and the engines on the FTL drive were activated. Throttle was set to 100%. Since these engines ran on monopropellant, and there was no monoprop aboard, they were off. They entire massless section was decoupled. Then, infinite fuel was enabled, firing engines to accelerate a massless part. I don't think this has been done before... The Imgur Album: I could have gone faster I was just bored.
  6. I agree, half the viruses coded are the same thing: toolbar -> copy+paste -> toolbar (repeat). Honestly, you get to figure out how to remove these thigns when your friend calls you up, you stop playing KSP to hear him say his computer his slow. You first tell him he's still running VISTA, not Linux, then you VNC to his computer, install Malwarebytes, and gape in horror at 2800 viruses found. all toolbars...
  7. I feel your pain. I spent hours downloading, installing, bugfixing, patching and finally installing Ubuntu 13 on a repaired laptop. Hmm, why is I lagging? *clicky* Nuu! 32-Bit. Later that month I just spent about $350 to build my compy now. My GPU is as buggy as hell (GeForce 8400) but my CPU is very powerful, or just fast with quad-coreness. You can also sign up for DropBox, etc. to store files whilst you get rid of Windows 8 A.S.A.P. *hint* it's not worth it... And I'll have you know I'm 12 as well. Never under estimate a 12 year old using Linux. ON TOPIC: My best bet with KSP would be to simply run it on Linux (Maybe LiveCD) and see how you like it. Then you can install Linux. The reason I recommend Linux is that it's footprint is very low---ESPECIALLY since you can run in a terminal session and get rid of those pesky GUI's.
  8. Today I was bored. So I launched a rocket. But not just in KSP. In real life. I present; the Kerbal K! Here's a glorious video of a launch:
  9. This isn't much of a record, but it'll help fill up your lonely list: Here, have an imgur album:
  10. I'd just let the biome counter be adjustable. Before Squad finishes coding, just put something akin to "level of detail" Hard: KSC is one big biome Medium: What it was in 0.24 Easy: All teh biomes This would satisfy everyone's needs. More customization! MOAR!
  11. I really don't need support on this one, I just want to rant. It struck, the rarest species of them all, the ass kraken. It was waiting for me. I knew it was going to strike...foolishly, I reverted two times in a row about 30 seconds apart. 32-Bit modded Ksp Linux Ubuntu 14.04 Mods: Karbonite Docking Port alightment KAS MechJeb The only parts in use at the the time were KAS and Karbonite A Kerbal was on EVA and was about to hit the ground (midair) when it struck. I was busy haxing gravity trying to get him back into his capsule... WHY? WHY? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY? D':
  12. I won't be able to donate, but I am relatively experienced with Arduino code, up to the point of dealing with data storage and the such...
  13. I have discovered a secret. It may even attract hoards of mysterious "Danny Kermans" as they flock to exploit it's truth. Here it is: On a side note, putting a kerbal in it *may* result in top-heavyness, and it's STRONGLY recommended you bind a separate key for rover controls unless you like eating dirt. Whatever, here's a vid for you to enjoy: And even more glorious is... a craft file for you to enjoy, hosted on the FIST's very own FTP server! (Click here or my sig for more Kerbal creations) >>>Le Craft File-->clickey Have fun!
  14. So, I was listening to the radio (yes, I do that at a young age. ) and this song came on. I immediately go, "WHO MADE THIS? Jebediah Kerman?) Listen to the song at about 2:48. Oh yes, that is definably Jeb. 2:48-3:51 Jeb-y part
  15. Forum is up and running again it seems. I was on the IRC for a while. Yay! Squad added more boosters.
  16. Same. I had to go through 50 or so refreshes to get here. Jebediah, we need you here STAT!
  17. I agree to this, then again, there is that scenario button and you can create scenarios for that, though I'd like to see it as a gamemode.
  18. Personally, I start off with a lightweight upper stage, and continue adding fuel/reverting until my first stage brings me all the way to orbit, or extremely close. I always ditch the first stage once I'm in orbit anyway, since there is NO way I can manuever without RCS. Of course, I use crossfeed/asparagus, which I strongly recommend as you don't have to lug half filled cans all the way up.
  19. inert plushie Granted. All of your bugs are now patched in individual updates that cause save resets. I wish that I had 100 inert, non-reactive plushie Jebadiah Kermans.
  20. Yeah, a lot of engineers would be interested and it would be fun to see them put the dreaded: AERODYNAMIC NOSE CONE or even worse, a "heat shield". Ah, the joys of one taking KSP too seriously.
  21. Granted, but somebody pees in it and it get's dirty. I wish I had an infinite supply of regular plushie Jebediah Kermans.
  22. Banned for calling things the Rokkergram.
  23. I have a problem with my first lab. First off, I regret sending up all my kerbonaughts into a station that has one mk1 capsule and a science bay. 2 parachutes (radial) ain't gonna cut it, I will have to use all my fuel to prevent explosions... anyway, I tried doing the plant growth experiment. I'm orbiting at 121-123km above Kerbin, and I have power. When I click on the plant growth thing and hit start experiment, it appears to work, but when I click away to hide the Eureka thing and click back, the start experiment button appears. I've done it multiple times, first waiting an hour (time warp ) and finding no Eurakas, then going to the tracking station and waiting 20 or so days. Still no results and no science. I'm on 0.24 with what I think is the latest version, downloaded today or yesterday from SpacePort
