  1. There are far better ways my friend, far better ways.
  2. What\'s this? something here I actually have the correct talents to offer to help with? Amazing! if you still need help with this I\'ll gladly do so. I\'m a bit of an artist, and currently taking classes for art related stuff as well.
  3. This is what I have to say, CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!! And I will reach the speed of light with a NERVA! and yeah..... current velocity of the valkyrie echo at this time is 20000 KPS and counting..... this will take several days..... at least..... yeah..... BUT I WILL NOT STOP TILL I REACH THE SPEED OF LIGHT WITH A NERVA!!!!!!!!!
  4. this my own project The Raven Sierra (raven, space) final trials are still being conducted on the armed version, the Raven Sierra Foxtrot (raven, space fighter) but yeah.
  5. Thrillmasters and Physics Nerds I present to you, THE DRACONIS PROJECT!!!!!! This is a challenge to you all to create the most heavily armed, maneuverable, and fast (actually high accel.) Space Fighter. For the fighter itself you must only use stock parts,Novasilisko\'s pack, the wobbly rockets pack, and c-7\'s aviation pack. You may also use any of the bomb parts floating around, and can also use any of the miniature parts from assorted packs to make missiles. Submissions must include a screenshot, and .craft files are very nice as well. Lots of Bonus Points if you launch a target and blow it up! (video or screenshot proof necessary) May you all make many explosions! 8) EDIT: tuned SAS modules are also allowed
  6. the trick there is just get something with a high thrust to mass ratio, and use it to decelerate and then accelerate in the appropriate direction. I personally like to use an ion engine with several fuel tanks for it, because then I often have enough fuel to change course several times before returning to the planet. It however does take forever that way
  7. I haven't that problem at all, even past 1,000,000 km
  8. I have a ship currently in flight that I have going for the speed of light challenge, my estimated minimum flight time for this ship is 50 hours..... 8)
  9. I just started testing The Angelica, my newest attempt at the light barrier, with triple the fuel for the ion engine, and an extra to engines in the initial boost EDIT: actually quintuple the fuel for the ion engine, and 4 fuel tanks each for the 7 turbojets in the initial boost stage. I expect the total flight time for this thing to be multiple days...... and here's a pic too
  10. The Seraphim finally reached engine burnout after 10 hours 36 minutes and 32 seconds of flight time. in this time it accelerated to a final velocity of 48.0397 kps or .0001602431906409067 c. I think that's fast for a non-cheat engine. here it is
  11. I might try another version with more tanks and multiple engines so I can try for a velocity of .1c
  12. C-7's small fuel tank and an ion engine, yay for high specific impulse!
  13. 1,000,000 km travelling at 45.6494 kps after 9:45:54 flight time, and still no engine burnout. This is The Seraphim, my interstellar voyager.
  14. 8 hours and 15 minutes, I was present in front of the computer the whole time. it's also still going...... at a velocity of .0001350901229142996 C
  15. So far I've reached 40 kps with an ion engine, I'll give you all a screenshot when the thing finally runs out of fuel......... (it's used about 80% of the tank after over 8 hours of flight time.....)
