  1. Started my new career mode game last night. New features are all great. I used FAR so I'm used to the aero. It is a little different from FAR but not too much. I love being able to deploy a chute at high speeds w/o having them burn up due to deadly re-entry. Camera wobble on re-entry made me sick. Had to turn it off. Love the surface deflection! It seems like gravity turns can be done properly as well now. As longs as I kept a low angle of attack, my turns looked great! No wobbly rockets. Ummm...... will have to unlock more parts before I can report further.
  2. If you want to mount them radially use nose cones. If stacked, open your mk I chute before you flip. The reason you flip is because of center of mass being higher than the center of your craft. Adding the science jr. under your command pod will result in a flip. Can also not jettison your final stage until your ready to deploy chutes.
  3. Do rovers still blow up at slow speeds? - - - Updated - - - Yeah, hoping to be able to recover shorter stages w/o a mod.
  4. Enjoy some classic Star Trek spoofs while you wait.
  5. A wall indeed. Definitely the math would be #1. 2nd for me would be actually landing where I want to land. Nav ball would be my 3rd.

  7. Now there is hydrogen out there. I'd assume any hydrocarbons found in asteroids would be trace amounts. Hydrogen engines anyone? :-)

  9. I'd be leaning towards 4/28 since it's a Tuesday. Books, music, software, etc are typically always released on Tuesdays.
  10. Sent a Christmas tree to Mun. lol! Put 16 little landers on a rocket. All the lights from the batteries and mechjeb made it look christmasy. At 489 parts and 1.1 million the frame rate was horrible. At least I should rake in a couple k worth of science points.
  11. Nice suggestion. Will try it for fun but I'd just assume the craft will end up being kraken bait.
  12. I'm new enough to the game that I'm not too familiar with all the bodies yet. I figured there would be a small moon that it could make sense but I guess not. Still a lot of implications. The space tether experiment NASA conducted years ago would be possible. Just excited to explore the possibilites.

  14. - - - Updated - - - I'll probably just make sure my first stages are short enough. Will be interesting to see the game function beyond the2.5km bubble. I foresee renewed talk of space elevators. Obviously not on Kerbin though.
  15. I've been playing for 3 months and keep starting over every couple of weeks. First it was because I was going through all the mods trying to decide which ones would provide a rich yet challenging experience. Since I got the mods I want all working I've only restarted my game once because I wasn't very systematic when gathering science. Now I'm taking a strategic approach to gathering science so I don't have to lopk back to figure out which experiments haven't been completed in each biome. Now that I'm three months into playing I feel I am now ready to wrap up the show on Kerbin and hit up Mun. No other game has ever been this much of a challenge for me (which I do enjoy). On the other hand I'm not sure how the average gamer would respond to taking that much time to get familiar with a game. It may make sense to have a few more adjustments in the difficulty setting. If LS and deadly re-entry is included in 1.0 it would probably make sense to have the ability to choose whether or not you want these components to be active.
  16. When you right click on the base, what does the growth rate say?
  17. It works for me but I had a few issues to work through. On the other hand I only have RoverDudes mods + EPL + Civ Pop.
