  1. Is there a way to adjust the timer of an alarm that has already been set? I want to make my alarm go off a day earlier than the planned launch/maneuver.
  2. I figured out what was wrong. I'm using the small nozzles which are mounted upside down compared to the rest of the rocket. The nozzles have a gimbal and they can't recognize that they are upside down even after flipping the control unit. I just shut off the gimbal and let the wheels take control. It's not an Apollo type pod per se, it's more of a rudimentary sky crane and the rover is belly up during early stages.
  3. How do you set your parts that need to be upside down during launch a la Apollo style command pod? My SAS perpetually flips my craft when I get to that upside down stage - what do?
  4. New career started. Out of 7 rescue contracts 6 were pilots and 1 was a scientist. Is rescue pool skewed now or is this just bad luck?
  5. I alright then I think I'll call this one answered. Thanks for all the replies!
  6. That reply I think cleared it up for me. So there is a point nonetheless when and where you can burn straight out but it's very slim so not practical. Also if a moon has an elliptical orbit what point of the orbit(the moon's) would be most optimal to eject on course to the parent?
  7. I think some of this is starting to click. You might think by my line of questioning I haven't achieved much but I have done many landings and returns, even to other planets. It's just my grasp on the why is behind, not the how. Correct me if I'm wrong: Heading east in a sense is moving with the Mun's rotation and so maximizes your velocity gain, which saves fuel. And going straight out is never optimal. Eh? Again thanks for the help everyone!
  8. What approximate heading and angle would that be? I can't relate what you mean by exactly between in this case, not sure if my understanding spatially is on par with most other peoples'. Do you mean to point straight to the parent body from my landed position? Thanks for helping by the way!
  9. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/29616984106954889/50E52E096CF82FEA53259CB989337E60DB65E911/ Is this not optimal? Considering I was "behind" the moon, I set my heading for 90° at a 70° angle. Just trying to build a better reference.
  10. So I've learned how exiting a moon's SOI to return to the parent body is best done by setting a course for it's retrograde vector(if I'm saying that right). I'm not clear on why this is so however as I don't understand the mechanics and I haven't read anything that articulates it well enough. Can someone explain it succinctly if you please? Also in relation to this, if my lander is on a moon and my coordinates are at the very trailing edge of the moon in relation to it's vector, would it not be feasible to just burn straight up since my heading is already as the moon's retrograde?
  11. I think you're right, I went back loaded from VAB and it is missing the decoupler, I must have forgot to place one again. Guess it's more a fairing bug with the heat shield as you say. Operator error! My bad my bad don't hurt me too bad. Thanks for the help fellers!
  12. I looked up the debug window, it's showing these in yellow [Warning]: HighlightingSystem : Multiple Highlighter components on a single GameObject is not allowed! Highlighter has been disabled on a GameObject with name 'model'. and a little further down [Warning]: [PartJoint]: None of the provided nodes was valid! Any help appreciated
  13. The ship with the missing decoupler is currently docked with the science ship, but I have had this happen in other situations. Always after loading save. Can't find anything in google concerning this. - - - Updated - - - Oh and yes even though there's a space between the tank and heat shield it's still seems connected, it will fly just fine. I've been forced to land without decoupling before, cross fingers and hope fuel tank serves as heat shield. - - - Updated - - - I have since found this page in reference to the same bug http://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/4919 - - - Updated - - - I've been looking for a mod that might let me replace the missing decoupler, will HyperEdit work?
  14. My stack decouplers keep disappearing. Current example in pic. Happens sometimes after I load a save. Is there a way I can fix this to save my ship, some kind of editor? I use MechJeb, NavHud and Waypoint Manager mods. I think this has happened without mods but can't remember. I'm getting good at the game now and this bug is really starting to hurt. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/29616984098757354/910809EBE44470F83BC51B68273F71C0F7A29BDE/
  15. 17 G!? For how long? Shouldn't the crew technically be dead from loss of blood flow? Nice flying anyhow :-)
