  1. Ok ok... So... My mothership made it to Minmus, where it will be refueled and upgraded for a bit. Having to burn for 15 minutes is not so much of a problem, it is stable in maximum physics warp I will also fill in some EPL Rocketparts resource and probably get down to 0.5 m/s²...
  2. Hey all, today I have a rather complicated question... First, let me explain a bit: I have never visited any other planet besides Duna, so I wanted to change that. I got up the greatest minds of kerbality to create a fully self sustaining mothership, refineries, launchpads and much more included, designed to establish bases at all planets. Now, with most things like ore cannisters, containers and stuff unloaded, my mothership can go for 0.9 m/s², even much less when even half filled(but at least i can get somewhere). The question is: HOW MUCH actually is needed for a proper mothership? Or doesn't it matter and only efficiency is counted?
  3. Great mod, planning a colony on minmus. Just one question, can I build a completely closed circle that only requires power and no new substrate and water?
  4. I just realized that we already have a ray casting based aerodynamics system... I still was thinking in the old system :|
  5. Dude, you also need to set up a lot of things, add things, life support! Anything! Having Remote Tech, TAC Life Support and other things makes it a real challenge
  6. Dang good idea, gonna be used for some modules that are required to be the same height
  7. Well, gathering science during the countdown is also very important, so you can easily make more efficient launches, like my minmus ground station complex is almost self sustaining Ohhh, and another tip, while doing missions try to make as much debris as possible so you can later on collect it
  8. Well, you also can launch vehicles to other bodies too I'll just set it to 2 years? You of course also have to gather a lot of science to get up better modules within that time You could also go full independant with the first station
  9. This challenge was sort of inspired by the "Plan Kappa" comics made by someone on this forum. So.. to get straight to the point: Exactly at the first successful touchdown on the Mün, you have exactly 2 years time. In these two years, get up as much materials and kerbals as possible. After these two years, you may not launch anything from/at kerbin, and neither land on it. It may be used to dump asteroids of course, but ships MUST be deassembled. To avoid tricks, the Mün HAS to be the first other body to land on besides Kerbin. Of course you need some mods too: Extraplanetary Launchpads Kethane KSP Interstellar(Optional) Kerbal Attachment System(Optional, but useful) Kerbal Inventory System(Optional, but also very useful) And if you want to play it a bit harder: Remote Tech Idea on how to manage that: Try to deploy some containers filled with stuff as soon as you have dockingports, these can then later be collected and emptied. Try to get a station up ASAP. I had my first Mün landing in my specified world at day 1, so you know what to do
  10. Soon the CUBUS-Alpha orbital station core will be deployed in Kerbal orbit at an altitude of 400 KM

  11. Thank you alot! So guys, I think I have enough mods and all stuff now. I also made a general mod library update because it fits so nicely in.
  12. Oh, then I must have understood something wrong. Today isn't one of my best days, I'm sorry ^^
  13. Thank you. Even tho it isn't quite what I meant, I mean that i can have a module where I put in some materials(like iron) and it spits out some new parts like a Scanner or so, that can also be used in Orbit or so. So that I practically do not need Kerbin anymore
  14. Hello dear readers,(love I should srsly stop sounding so formal..) Hello guys and gals(?) Hello fellow KSPers... better... So, the title is a bit unclear. Are there any mods out there that allow me to mine things like iron ore and then process them to practically make new rocket parts? Thanks in advance
  15. Yeah, that was a plan too, gonna do both :3 Poor Jebediah and Bill are trapped on the mun, Bill being far away from any civilisation in the middle of a debris field, while Jeb leads the colony
  16. So, without much redoing I can finally "land" my tower, only problem is that it tips over, gonna lower the CoM...
  17. Why sepratrons? I didn't use imgur at all, it is just a small persons transporter with a hitchhiker container and the starting pod with jeb inside...
  18. I am familiar with the german autobahn, living in middleeurope Miles/hour are meaningless, but 216 KM/H is quite a lot ...
  19. I guess it's a low ore density area, haven't set up any survey satellites yet. As for the OX-STAT, they are the only panels i've got... Ok, i added a lot of struts, I really thought that it would make the "landing". Gonna try out a new landing...
  20. Gonna try it out straight after my ocarina practise, thank you
  21. Hey there, fellow Kerbal folks. Got some problems with my mun colony. Allow me to introduce you to the "Muna" Mun colony project Not too long ago i planned on making a mun colony to generate endless science. I already have got five kerbals up there. Now i was in the dire need of a refuel and ore refinement drill tower. I added some low hanging structural fuselages(the one that have a crash resistency of 70 M/S). When it came to landing, i exploded at a touchdown of 60 M/S or less... Can anybody explain me why? Here is the refuel station itself: EDIT: Got the tower to work, pictures will follow
