  1. There's an important thread about the future of CKAN in the "CKAN Continuation Discussion" thread. Authors: Please be sure to join the thread and lend your voice to this important discussion. Users: Sadly, your opinion is not valued at this time. Or at least mine wasn't, maybe you'll have a better chance?
  2. Speaking of not productive, as a user I'd like to see the modders bring something to the table. A general agreement to refrain from insulting and mocking your own user base. It's toxic.
  3. I'm contrasting it with the Google indexer which follows links with no human involvement. It's not enough that you post a forum thread with your new mod and it magically appears in CKAN. Someone has to choose to add it to the repo. The issue (I believe based on limited reading) is that anyone can add your mod with no approval process, if it has a permissive license. I'm not arguing for that mind you, there's a well established flame war already progress for that.
  4. It is opt-in, just not necessarily restricted to the content creator.
  5. If you guys just want an IQ test for your mods, why post the binaries? Just publish the source code.
  6. No software developer ever wants to support their products. That's a given. The question is whether they'd rather answer questions one-by-one on the forums, or spend a little time upfront on the metadata.
  7. I would argue that the best way to support the interest of the users is to encourage a healthy drama-free modding community, which implies attending to the concerns of mod authors. And in turn, the best way for mod authors to reduce their own support costs is to work with CKAN (and other networks) to ensure they have automated installs working properly.
  8. Not sure if this is related to the 1.1.3 update, but while looking at the logs for other issues, found these. And yes, I have RealSolarSystem installed. [EXC 21:44:09.059] ArgumentException: 'Mercury' is not a valid CelestialBody. ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseCelestialBodyValue (System.String celestialName) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseSingleValue[CelestialBody] (System.String key, System.String stringValue, Boolean allowExpression) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseValue[CelestialBody] (.ConfigNode configNode, System.String key, Boolean allowExpression) ContractConfigurator.ConfigNodeUtil.ParseValue[CelestialBody] (.ConfigNode configNode, System.String key, .CelestialBody defaultValue) ContractConfigurator.RemoteTech.HasAntennaParameter.OnParameterLoad (.ConfigNode node) ContractConfigurator.Parameters.ContractConfiguratorParameter.OnLoad (.ConfigNode node) UnityEngine.Debug:LogException(Exception) ContractConfigurator.LoggingUtil:LogException(Exception) ContractConfigurator.Parameters.ContractConfiguratorParameter:OnLoad(ConfigNode) Contracts.ContractParameter:Load(ConfigNode) Contracts.ContractParameter:Load(ConfigNode) Contracts.Contract:Load(Contract, ConfigNode) Contracts.ContractSystem:LoadContract(ConfigNode) Contracts.<OnLoadRoutine>c__Iterator80:MoveNext() [EXC 21:44:09.065] ArgumentException: 'Venus' is not a valid CelestialBody. 9. Don't forget KSP-AVC. It doesn't install anything for you, but it checks on load and gives you a download link.
  10. The good news is the plugin from ckan does load in 1.1, and the inflation animations work. I got the centrifuge working 1.0.5 with starwaster's config patch, but I can't deploy or start the animation (no menu items) in 1.1.
  11. CKAN: Habitat Plugin That's just the DLL recompiled for 1.0.5. So to install: manually download and copy the files in the dropbox link on the first page of this thread. remove the old DLL in GameData/HabitatPack/Plugins/Habitat.dll (or rename it out of the way) Install 'Habitat Plugin' via CKAN It appears to be still unfinished. It's missing CLS and life support configs, and I couldn't get the centrifuge to deploy. Also, the docking ring has some quirks and missing menus. HabitatPack screenshots Picture 1 is unflated, 2 is inflated.
