  1. Thank you severedsolo. I moved my install to a non-exFAT partition and I am now up and running. Thank you all for you help!
  2. Hmm, I checked out that link and the problem they were experiencing had to do with their external being formatted to exFAT and exFAT not supporting all "ACL flags like for single user or multiple user access mode". Which is interesting as my KSP, and all my other games, is installed on an external formatted to exFAT. I'll see if I can make a new partition that supports ACL flags and post my findings.
  3. Yeah after removing the part it just sticks at another part. RAM pressure is about 1/4 of the total KSP is shown to be using only 1.12GB
  4. Hmm. No antivirus. Could it be Steam's fault? I'll try and boot the game with nothing else running. Update in a sec. No luck booting KSP by itself. This weird. Nothing else is running not Steam not anything. Same problem in the log file: IOException: Sharing violation on path /Volumes/DAWNWALL/Games/Steam Library/steamapps/common/Kerbal Space Program/PartDatabase.cfg at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, Boolean anonymous, FileOptions options) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.FileStream..ctor (System.String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.IO.File.Open (System.String path, FileMode mode) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ConfigNode.Save (System.String fileFullName, System.String header) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at ConfigNode.Save (System.String fileFullName) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at PartLoader.SavePartDatabase () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at PartLoader+<CompileAll>c__Iterator49.MoveNext () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 (Filename: Line: -1)
  5. I'll check and see. What what I have found is that Steam automatically launches the x86 (32bit) version. I'll try and force if to lanch the x64 now.
  6. Ah I see I have left out some expected information. I'll edit the post later today once I get back from work.
  7. Hello, Just bought and installed KSP. Tried to run it for the first time and the game loaded until it reached the file "Squad/Spaces/mk2InlineInternal/Internal/mk2InlineInternal" and then freezes permanently. I checked the game files and had Steam verify them and it turned out that one of the files failed to checkout and would be re-acquired. Ran the verification again and the whole thing passed. Clicked play again and got the same problem, stuck on "Squad/Spaces/mk2InlineInternal/Internal/mk2InlineInternal". I deleted local content and re-installed the game and the problem continues to persist. Any thoughts? Anyone got a few tricks up their sleeve I might use to get KSP up and running?
