how long is this challenge?

Yikes, this post is what happens when you type after a 12 hour night shift.

Did not have indestructible buildings enabled. I actually was going to because I spent a dumb amount of time on this, but didn't know how. Was going to place it in the anything goes category but didn't know how lol. So challenge mode because I didn't know how to not do it challenge mode.

Try strapping the vectors on the side like I did, it gives more clearance for the landing struts and it makes it really easy to control.

Post some pics of what you are trying to get up. The trick for me was to use enough parachutes to arrest the speed to about 13m/s, and to use enough landing struts that even when half of them broke, the craft didn't touch the building.

Ok, I'm done with this challenge. 2997 tons, 719 parts and no mod parts or mods, destructible buildings, etc. I don't know that I can get another kilo on that building lol, that attempt almost failed after several of the landing struts blew up, but it stayed upright.

Been trying to land about 3000 tons on the roof, landing gear collapses every time though =/ What would be stronger than that for landing? At that weight, anything over about 0.2 m/s collapses the building.

1056 tons, no parts from mods used, MJ and KER only used to get craft data. Landing was a bit crooked, but it worked.

For my first challenge, I decided to make a stock fighter-style jet, flying from KSC (after bombing it a bit), down to the south pole. I hadn't been down there before so I figured it would be a good opportunity to sight-see. After getting there, I saw how much fuel I had left, so I decided to go to the north pole. Total time from KSC to south to north took 57 minutes.

I'm no expert on building planes by any means, but you may want to try moving your rear landing gear closer to your center of mass. Having them back that far keeps the plane from nosing up.

It's too bad they don't do a crowdfunding campaign for the xpac, with flex goals like revamping career mode, etc. I know it would be the first one I've ever participated in.

Can't wait. Would be nice if they rewrote the entire contract system to have a full storyline, but this is a great start. With how much fun I've had with this game, the expac is definitely something I will buy.
