Hi, I'm doing some starship prototypes by miyself and I'm now trying to put a heatshield in the half of the tank, but doesn't exists good mods with tiles of heatshield, so I'm thinking in create a texture in SSTU to my tank where half tank will be these heatshield texture in the image and half will be the normal tank. Can someone explain to me if this possibility (of creating a new texture template for the tanks) exists? And how?

     

    This heatshield is the radiator with the texture changed, but I didn't liked the result, lol.

    I've been experimenting with a reusable fairing that essentially works like a cargo bay. Not sure how reentry is going to work with this thing though. The problem is that it moves the center of drag to the front so that the second stage has to reenter engine first.

    The model for the trunk is finished and I'm now trying to give it a stockalike texture.
     

    where can I find this fairing or some fairing like that?

  3. Hi, I'm a totally newbie in 3D modeling, I never made a mod for KSP.

    So today I'm trying to modify a part to my own use, but I don't wanna make a course because is little things that I want to add and I do'nt wanna spent hours in tutorials to learn how to make windows and hatches.

    I have a X-37b model (of Contares NAM mod) and I want to turn it into a crew-manned spacecraft, with windows and a hatch with airlock on the right side, also make the wings separated parts.

     

    Some good soul could help me?

    You mean make your own base the base that shows up in space center view yes? Go into options-difficulty settings-Kerbal Konstructs and tick the box that says "focus last space center" or something similar. It makes the last runway/pad you launched from the camera focus for Space Center view :) this said though, there isn't a way to replicate a lot of the functions of the standard KSC, so I ended up turning the setting off and just launching from my custom space center :/

    This is probably less due to aerodynamics than to an unbalanced mass distribution during flight preparation. It should also be noted that aerodynamic mods like FAR are not compatible with one-piece CSA gliders. With this knowledge in the background, a prototypical re-entry with an angle of attack of 35 - 40° is possible, which is slowly and automatically reduced to 10 - 15° as the entry speed is reduced. After the re-entry, the flight characteristics are quite demanding and by no means realistic due to the lack of rudder, just as the suitability of KSP as a flight simulator is more than questionable.
    It has already been pointed out elsewhere that all sub-mods of CSA are in a revision phase and the space gliders will be completely removed, if not improved with overseeable effort.

     

    it was actually just an everyday expression. I have no god to relate to, anyway, thanks for support me and tell me the steps to make a good re-entry!
