  1. So its not just my rocket designs then : Ok, now I need to figure out how to make my massive Mun rocket controllable...
  2. Am I the only one that has issues with the thrust vectoring of the large engines in the alpha pack? They literally bend my rocket like a piece of rubber with overcompensations using both ASAS and Mechjeb. I\'m not sure using more than one at a time is structurally safe... Or am I missing something?

It depends what you want to do with it, for example, if you want to focus on stations (something the current one does not do), you could call it something like the 'Mod Community Space Station Network'. I have no idea where you\'re focusing it though, so I\'ll leave naming it up to you. And good luck!
  4. It just seems like naming it the 'Community Mod Base 4' is suggesting that the third one, like the second one is now, is no longer active. I feel it should be renamed something that makes it clear that this is not a consecutive community base, but rather a parallel one. Just my two cents

Zekes, the current available bases are: [list type=decimal] [li]The Lake of Broken Landers (Minmus)[/li] [li]Thrionian Cloria I Base (Mun)[/li] You need to select one of these and then Khyron42 can add you to the list. You will then wait until your turn comes, which could be around a week from now if you sign up right now. Then you will download the most recent persistence file, land at the base you chose, upload the persistence in a post showcasing your landing, and sit back to enjoy your awesomeness. I can\'t explain it any better than that, so please PM Khyron42 instead of clogging up the thread if you have any more questions. To everyone else: Should we create a signup form for people to fill out, just for the sake of consistency? I think it would feel more official.
  7. I just realized something, the Silisko Edition Alpha pack, being an alpha release, lacked some key parts (i.e. landing legs, advanced sas) that I grabbed from the main pack. Since this means I technically will be using both, is someone else before me going to be using the main pack? I can\'t really tell... If not I would appreciate it if I could be exempted on the landing legs as the vanilla aren\'t so great for my lander.

  9. Once again I apologize for my ignorance, but how do I accomplish this: I can\'t seem to get my shroud/faring/whatever to separate, it sticks in one piece. Any advice is appreciated!

  11. This is probably the ultimate noob question, but how does one jettison a shroud covering a satellite? It always stays in one piece on my rocket and I usually fly the satellite through it...

Agreed As for me: Pros: -Indie Game (these are always fun) -True Orbital Physics -Loads of explosive failures -Success is extremely satisfying -Awesome community -Mods (a must have for any game) -Completely free to do whatever you can possibly think up (DISCLAIMER: Few of your ideas will actually work) I could go on but its legitimately 1:00 AM right now... Cons: -Kearth is a bit laggy at the moment -Have to wait about a month between updates... I feel this list should be sufficient...
  16. Hi, I\'m looking to use this calculator to find an optimal method of performing a plane change. Unfortunately my understandings of orbital physics don\'t extend beyond Hohmann Transfers, which I routinely use to reach the Mun. My goal is to achieve a polar orbit around the Mun from an orbit that is more or less in line with the equator (a 90-ish degree plane change). I would just like to know what I need to enter and then how to make sense of the data that is output. Specifically what is the 'Midcourse Impulse Altitude'? Otherwise I think I understand what most of the information means, I just want some clarification before I risk sending some Kerbals to their deaths... Thanks for any help!
  17. I would imagine 5 total landing sites would be reasonable. Keep three on the Mun and an additional two on Minimus. Bonus points for landing on both!
  18. This is definitely something I will be signing up for when the update comes out! Just curious, but will the Mun landing sites remain in the same locations? I\'d like to try a few practice runs to optimize my rocket and get an idea of the proper landing vectors (I\'ll be landing at the vanilla base ) I\'ll be watching for 3.0, and good luck to those who are going right now! (and add me to the list, just in case I get the chance to go before the update comes out )
