None are required. Its your game, I think you should install the ones that interest you. Some think none are needed, others feel they are all needed, the choice is yours.

Nothing wrong with the craft other than a lack of thrusters. Its actually pretty close to what I build, yours is just bigger. I put some in between the landing struts and then a matching set on the top. That leaves technique. As I'm not the best at explaining these things I would suggest looking at some tutorials on youtube or the one Cykrios linked earlier in the thread. Keep practicing, you'll get it. First pic is of when I started my TMI burn, 2nd pic is Bob on the Mun, 3rd is the conics after my TMI burn.

MOAR BOOSTERS!!! Without being able to see the craft I'll add that bigger is not always better. I would also suggest that you try some of the proven mun landers in the spacecraft exchange. If you have issues with the proven landers, practice makes perfect.

I already said why I don't like and refuse to support steam. I also refuse to support companies that go with steam. Will my one man boycott make steam disappear, no. But it makes me happy.

1. They are not the same type of game, or anywhere close besides both are "indie" games. They don't compete so one doesn't beat the other. Its not fair to either game to try to compare them really. 2. I'd buy me some Kerbal stuff.

I won't be playing if KSP goes the Steam route. I still find Steam to be annoying and a PITA. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Same as the last time this thread came up. IBTL

Not my thing. I like to play the game in original flavor. That being said I do like to check out interesting mods. Like has been said a million times, you can\'t cheat in a single player game. If its fun for you, good. Thats kinda the whole point of playing games, is it not?

I don\'t think its any ones business how the devs pay the bills. I certainly wouldn\'t appreciate someone discussing my personal finances on the interweb, weather its conjecture or not. That being said if your worried about their well being I\'m sure they would accept a donation in the amount you feel appropriate.
