  1. Career mode had me starting to think about how to do things in a more realistic manner. For things like one way probes I use injection and insertion stages instead of throwing a nuke on it and calling it done. I even did this with my first duna manned mission even tho I had a nuke on it as backup in case of attack from the kraken or I derped.
  2. Going for a sail as I wait... its an long slow drive to the water...
  3. Freshened up skills learned from watching the Apollo program as in INJECTION stages! My subassemblies tab is growing with things like "5 tons to orbit with Mun transfer stage. These injection stages have the right amount of d/v for transfer and orbit burns.
  4. Made my first plane in career mode. Avro Arrow 1 Lots of science! First stop a desert area. Safe landing! Than on take off a small bump was the end of it all only 300m from his last flag plant R.I.P Jeb you died for SCIENCE!
  5. This is a really cool idea. Have a cookie!
  6. Flipped a rocket landed rover I had on the island runway so i built a plane to bring over the new one. And than flipped that rover as well...
  7. So my inspiration for this comes from my other hobby 4x4ing. Based on rock buggys. So a wide stance was needed. In the back here we see the W3 power plant in its shrouding. I put a long I beam down the middle as a "frame" and than small cubic struts at the ends for the wheels to mount to. Added bonus for this setup after a few struts its strong but seems to have give if you land to hard. You can see the RemoteTech mod antennas make cool looking front bumper as well as flood and beam lights for those high speed runs. On top is a small solar panel setup just in cause something happens to the power plant and some rear facing lights for tire repair or not backing up over flags . Also is a 50Mm folding commdish for those times you need to stay in contact with the base. Time for testing!! Jeb your up!! Seems to handle jumps well, no spinning forward just launches nice and even and land true. Also handles bad launches with landing on 1 tire. Stat found in testing: A level jump max speed 22 m/s, uneven jump 15m/s, anything more seems to pop a tire. Now for some long distance testing!!! Jeb and Bill said this testing should be done by remote control cause "just driving is boring". Off to the mountains we go. Seen here is max speed with max warp and no problems. Starting the climb into the mountains. Starts to be some slow going from here. .... really slow .... Turn the 4 wheel steer back on and start angling back and forth. OOPS little to shape good test run. Now to setup a system that works with atmo and non atmo landings. Here is a basic setup for use on the mun or other moons and the parachutes keeps the front alittle higher than the rear on decent so it can touch down on the landing legs. I slapped it on top of a mun base lander I had made did some testing in Kerbin. Time to go to the MUN!!! Pusher/pull tug "Old Pete" launched Angled the engines outwards to not roast what ever I may end up moving around. To the Mun!! Ok small problem I forgot the fuel lines from the main tank to the engine tanks. Fixed it by using only 2 engines while the other 2 refill so I dont have as much down time on long burns. Uneventful deorbit and landing on the dark side of the Mun! (plays Pink Floyd) removing the rover. Landing: Suckess! After some awds spamming it got righted. The nice thing about this rover is the remote control, it was distance away after it got righted but than Jeb drives it right over next to the lander. Jeb can't wait to try it out! Bill joins him for the ride. Bob comes out to see them off. And also plants a flag for this great first landing on the Mun! (in 0.20) Than Bobs off for a nap. We're off! Jeb pushing the limits as always. (love the smiles) Got a strange bonce out of no where and over they go! long walk back... Time for a Duna mission! Got the new lander/rover up into orbit and a new tug docked when this happened. Damn kraken! Crushed and Ripped it right off the top of my ship in the blink of an eye. More to come Thanks for reading.
  8. Just alittle teaser of a rover I've been working on full story soon as I get back to Kerbin. Jeb testing it out.
  9. Never messed with planes before than watched some videos of people using better aero mods so I tried them out. Now I've been playing alot of warthunder lately so the far mod felt great! My first ever landing at the inland strip! Felt so good to land here and not make craters. Its nice and stable doesn't need any input. Had to buzz the tower. Started to push it harder see what the limits are. OOPS TO FAR FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU SAFE So happy right now.
