  1. Well, I did the manual installation of it. Which is simply downloading MechJeb which should come contained in a .zip file. Then extract the zip file to the GameData folder. I've done that, and as I mentioned MechJeb kind of works, but when it comes to initializing a burn sequence to enter orbit of the moon, it simply does not happen, and I know for sure I only have extracted MechJeb one time from the zip file into the GameData folder. Are there any other functioning add-ons that land you at different planets? Because for me, MechJeb 2 is not working, and I can find no instructions other than the manual, on how to operate the menus. What I mean is, in the early versions of MechJeb, there was a youtube video that specifically explained that you had to circularize, make sure you were at 200,000 k/m, then open the landing menu and select your target (in my case the moon) then all I remember from there is selecting an option that would automatically transfer from kerbin to moon, and then auto land me on the moon. And now, none of this happens. Can anyone confirm that MechJeb 2 works in its entirety, and have landed on a planet with the assistance of MechJeb 2? And if so, what am I missing/is there something specific I have to do if MechJeb 2 does work? Thanks.
  2. I am unsure if this has been asked or discussed already, so forgive me in advance if it has. I have KSP version 1.0.4.861 with MechJeb version 2.5.3. MechJeb only seems to work some of the time, not all of the time. On my most recent problem, about 10 minutes ago, I had my command pod with an adapter, a medium sized MK3 fuselage for fuel, another adapter then the engine. So basically I have no more stages. Here was my problem, I was already in circularize around Kerbin, and had told MechJeb for the Hohmann maneuver to target planet. On the map it showed all the orbit lines, and when it went to burn, nothing happened, even though I had almost an entirely full tank of fuel. MechJeb *did* throttle all the way up, but there was no engine burn of any fuel. My other problem that I had with MechJeb on a previous run like a week ago, was when I was all set to do a mun encounter. I had already chosen the location on the mun of where I wanted to land. The ship I had built didn't have much fuel left, but it had fuel. When the ship got to the point when MechJeb should have started to burn, it did nothing, and then completely ignored any options I had set for it and went into a Kerbin orbit. So my question is this: Does MechJeb version 2.5.3 work with this version of KSP? If not, is there a known MechJeb version that will work with KSP 1.0.4.861? In early versions of KSP, MechJeb worked like a charm. But now, it doesn't work at all and I'm perplexed as to why. I remember there were specific things that you had to do, according to a Youtube video, such as getting to 200,000, circularize around Kerbin, then in the landing guidance window, pick your landing location, and then MechJeb would take over from there. For me, MechJeb doesn't really do a whole lot, except for getting me into that circular orbit, but when I instruct it to do that Hohmann transfer, nothing happens, and when it goes to full throttle to burn the fuel, no fuel burns, even tho there is fuel in the tank. And the nodes thing, I have no understanding of what any of that stuff is. I know it's meant to do something, but I don't know how to utilize the nodes thing :-/
  3. Well, here is where I got the MechJeb 1.9.8.zip file from http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/mechjeb/ And here is where I got the MechJeb 2.0.9 zip file from http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/12384-PART-0-21-Anatid-Robotics-MuMech-MechJeb-Autopilot-v2-0-9 The screenshot you see on the second link, is not anywhere close to what I see on my screen with all those menus. Probably a year ago yea, I had menus like that, but either I'm getting the wrong zips, or something wasn't packaged right or I need both 1.9.8 and 2.0.9. But I have no clue.
  4. Thanks for the help there ToTheMun and TheCanadianVendingMachine. I unzipped the folder MechJeb2 from the MechJeb2-2.0.9.0.zip into the Gamedata folder, but it only brought up 2 MechJeb items in the list and that was under control. What other zips do I need for MechJeb?
  5. Okay, first, I downloaded uploads_2013_03_MechJeb_1.9.8.zip. The first folder in that zip is MechJeb. Inside that folder is Parts, Plugins and Ships. I copied over the Parts and Plugins folder to their respective locations. Didn't copy over Ships, as that is a craft file, meaning, its a small, and already built ship with MechJeb parts on it. Anyway, after I put the other 2 folders in KSP folder, MechJeb menu's would come up in game, but not all of them were working. I then downloaded MechJeb2-2.0.9.0.zip as I saw on Google, that was the most recent MechJeb. The first folder in that zip is MechJeb2. Inside that folder is Parts and Plugins. In the Parts folder is only 1 folder labeled, MechJeb2_AR202, and inside of that folder are 3 files, model.mu, model000.mbm and part.cfg. Inside the plugins folder is Mechjeb2.dll. When I had uploads_2013_03_MechJeb_1.9.8.zip extracted to the Parts folder under KSP folder, there were 10 folders in the Parts folder. In MechJeb2-2.0.9.0.zip I don't see any MechJeb parts. I know how to extract files from folders to their proper locations, my problem is that, I did that with the 1.9.8 MechJeb zip, and the MechJeb menu's weren't working correctly, like some of them would come up, but many others wouldn't, and I don't think MechJeb 1.9.8 was even working. When I took a look at the contents of the MechJeb 2.0.9 zip file, I didn't see any MechJeb parts in that zip file. Am I supposed to copy over the MechJeb.dll from the 2.0.9 zip and use the MechJeb parts from the 1.9.8 zip? @TheCanadianVendingMachine No, I didn't know about the easier mod system. How does it work? Do I just extract the folder to that Gamedata folder? And which folders am I extracting? Just the main MechJeb folder?
  6. I've been a member of the forums for a while now, but with work, and not alot of free time/playing other games etc., I wanted to wait a bit on KSP for updating and I must say, it's come a long way. A while back I got MechJeb for KSP, fairly easy too I must say. However, I downloaded MechJeb 1.9.8 I think, and it wasn't working. Had everything copied over from the zip as I was supposed to. Then I saw MechJeb 2.0.9, got the zip for that, but there's only 1 part, in the Parts folder, in the zip file. What am I supposed to be doing here, what am I missing? I really really need some help with getting MechJeb to work. It was real easy to get it working before, and I don't have all the "know-how" as many others do with flying spacecraft and doing mathematical equations and everything else, so I kind of need MechJeb, to get me landed on wherever it is I want to go. Well anyone reading this, if you'd like to reply back with step by step instructions on how to get MechJeb properly put on my system so that it will work with KSP, that'd be great. Thanks
