  1. Looks like SpaceX has postponed their next launch with the JASON-3 NOAA Satellite. http://www.theverge.com/2015/6/29/8864751/spacex-falcon-9-launch-postponed-explosion
  2. Old KSP Dev NovaSilisko has a working theory that IDA (the new docking adapter) might have came loose and caused this whole issue. It was the heaviest payload the Dragon has carried in its trunk.
  3. With that mindset we will. SpaceX will recover. And continue to do great things.
  4. So much down the drain for SpaceX.... Reputation... And a Falcon 9. Now the Air Force will wonder if SpaceX is safe enough to carry their "crucial" payloads.... And everybody at ULA is doing a happy dance...
  5. Just thinking about it, what other company has fun with silly things like this?
  6. Apple Watch pre-orders have been starting to get sent out! Anybody lucky enough to get updates on theirs yet? Mines still sitting at "processing order".
  7. Just a tad bit off topic, but did SpaceX ever disclose any information on what caused the in flight termination of the F9R Dev vehicle?
  8. Straight from SpaceX's website:http://www.spacex.com/news/2013/03/26/landing-leg "The Falcon 9 first stage carries landing legs which will deploy after stage separation and allow for the rocket’s soft return to Earth. The four legs are made of state-of-the-art carbon fiber with aluminum honeycomb. Placed symmetrically around the base of the rocket, they stow along the side of the vehicle during liftoff and later extend outward and down for landing."
  9. Well, that was quite the impact that they took.
  10. After they finally successfully land their first stage either on land or barge (hopefully June 19th). they will do a full tear down and observation of the rocket stage to see how it did coming back to Earth. My question being, when this becomes routine, are they going to have to re-certify every engine (which plagued the Shuttle program)? Or are they hoping to just say, "let's go again, everything looks okay!".
  11. This would just add complexity to the whole rocket, which in turn would increase costs, which SpaceX is trying to lower.
  12. Hi guys, I have been the record keeper for the local cemetery for quite some time and I am hoping to help bring the cemetery into the 21st century and get everything into a digital format. What I kinda had in mind is some type of GIS software where I can see the layout of the plots/graves and be able to click on them and see who is buried there (birth/death date, who it is deeded to, etc.). I was hoping to be able to have this tied into the cloud somehow also, so when I go and meet with a family out at the cemetery I can just bring my iPad along with me and view what's available for purchase right then and there. I had been looking into just using Numbers and just using the cells in the spreadsheet as plot's but that's my last resort. I'm just looking for someone else's opinion. Maybe someone has a better idea than me! Thanks in advance!
  13. I have been using a Pebble for over a year now. (Started out with the plastic one and upgraded to the Pebble Steele a few months later.) As far as the Apple Watch goes, it has everything that the Pebble lacks and then some. (Besides battery life) The Retina Display screen is going to be amazing compared to the e-ink pixelated screen on the Pebble. I have found myself in several situations just recently where instead of having to pull out my phone I could just ask Siri a quick question from my wrist. 42mm Stainless Steel w/ Link Bracelet was my choice and have not yet had one ounce of buyer's remorse.
  14. I wanna see! EDIT: Not private anymore! They were SOOOO close!
  15. - The Falcon 9 is currently heading to the ISS. *Dragon* - Attempting to land the second stage. *First* - Had extra vertical thrust when trying to land. *Lateral* Makes a guy wonder what else they get wrong with stuff that we don't care about.
  16. Wonder what would ever happen if one of the landing legs popped open during ascent?
  17. On the bright side, at least they know how to get to there target. Haha
