  1. Welcome back Damion, good to see some of the old streamers on the forums again (you and capt'n Skunky).
  2. If only it wasn't at 1 in the night here in Europe. That is quite late even on a Friday. I will see if I can keep awake after a long week at work.
  3. Only Drogue chute deployed it seems 60m/s downwards speed
  4. Airspace over launchsite closed from 12.45 to 14.00 CEST. Launch in approximately 15 minutes
  5. 30-45 minutes delayed at the moment. Watch at: http://www.copenhagensuborbitals.com/index.php
  6. Mostly correct. As you might have noticed from a lot of the other posts Europa isn't the innermost Galileian moon. That would be Io (the very vulcanic one, red, yellow and orange in colour from all the sulfur). Other than that your post is correct and it is the most likely reason for liquids on Laythe.
  7. The Earth and Moon also have a center of mass (located inside the Earth). The center of mass is just that: The center of the combined masses of the objects in the system. Whether or not they are one solid object or millions of particles (this is why we can talk about the center of mass of a gass cloud). Most of the time though the CoM and CoG will be the same or very close together.
  8. You are not a bad person (a bad socialite perhaps but then so am I). You are just beginning to think like a scientist working on a project. Remember most new scientific ideas do not come during work hours but during off-hours where the brain are free to wander.
  9. Stars do not twinkle outside an atmosphere since it is the turbulence in the atmosphere that makes them look like they twinkle. That is the reason for the Hubble Space Telescope (a small 2m telescope that would have been in the very low end of telescope size on the ground when launched).
  10. It runs on my 1.8GHz Dual Core CPU with 2GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 graphics card (OS: Win XP). Obviously not on highest setting but I can get it fairly high though I usually run it on something like medium setting. If I lowered everything to minimum it would most likely run fairly smooth. I don't know if my computer is near the minimum requirements but it runs it fine as stated above.
  11. Just imagine what we astrophysicists think about that movie. (Thruth be told we watch it trying to find all the errors. The one who finds the most wins. Or alternatively a drinking game but beware the hangovers) XarynMar
  12. I don't know about the Thrustmaster. But my trusty old Logitech attack 3 Joystick works fine.
  13. If I remember correctly then the decoupler with "legs" is not the strongest of them. That would be the wide flat one. Xaryn Mar.
  14. excactly. Learning through gaming (or as the call it on EC: Gamification). I personally learned a lot of english through gaming (tabletop rpgs and computer gaming). Xaryn Mar.
  15. Just thought I would let everyone know that Kerbal Space Program was featured in todays Extra Credits (http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/games-you-might-not-have-tried-5) along with several other indie games. I find this to be a very good thing since we will reach even more people. Greetings and may your rockets explode beautifully Xaryn Mar.
  16. Another deleted account here but now I´m back again. Luckily I didn´t loose much (mostly my 5 first posts).
