  1. Hi! I'm a game developer/programmer. I would consider myself a fairly advanced Unity3d dev. I'm just been idly wondering recently how does one mod a unity game? Or what is a good way to allow a unity game your developing to be easy to mod. I love KSP and I thought this would be a great place to ask as KSP is a unity game and its been heavily modded. I have no experience modding any games ever! I dont know why but for some reason I always much prefer the idea of making my own games. So how exactly does one make a mod for KSP? What form does a mod take and how is it merged with the vanilla release? Have the KSP devs open sourced their whole project (allowing you to edit it as they do in the unity editor) or have they gone to great lengths building their own modding tools for the community? How are scripts compiled or interpreted for the game and what language do you use? I know I could find out a lot of this by trawling the forums so just ignore this thread if you dissaprove of my methods, and if not thanks!
  2. Like most planes in KSP I find that before they are going fast enough to take-off they always crash on the runway. I can take off in some of the other planes but Ive never gotten the stock Aeris 4A off the ground. I've watched Scott Manleys video on it and I am doing exactly what he does. If I just go to runway, throttle up and turn on jet engines, then it goes down the runway for a bit but veers off course and explodes at about 100 Mps
  3. thats awesome! the raja rama stuff! also that ratatat song!
  4. Yeah I just got this album + KSP and was combining them also!! wicked!!
  5. This gave me goosebumps when I played it during a mun mission Brian Eno - Apollo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0h_jWVbw6M (btw anyone here who hasnt seen for all mankind yet.. watch it!! Its just beautiful) Obviously ambienty electronic stuff like boards of canada is great, Boards of Canada - Music is math But Ive found this to be very effective! Harumi
  6. Thanks dudes! @ rpayne88 whats LKO by the way? I decided to play ksp at first without watching any tutorials or anything to make if more fun. So I have been going straight up till 70,000 every launch. The one good thing is that I've hence mastered building extremely powerful massive rockets that dont blow up
  7. I'm wondering. If you want to get escape velocity and escape Kerbin does it make sense to just go straight up. full speed and get out of the atmosphere are fast as possible? Also when escaping Kerbin, dont bother orbiting just keep going up?
