  1. Im sorry, did i see that video right. The glass tiles have a wierd textured surface on them to make them have friction? Im sorry but wouldnt that be incredibly noisy. The only way I could see this working would be recreational areas and peoples driveways. Replacing roads with it? That would surley do more harm than good. Besides, other than the fact it doesnt produce electricity, whats wrong with asphalt? I love asphalt, when i see and smell a road being repaired or re surfaced..I dunno hot asphalt looks really tastey. If it wasnt toxic I would probably eat it!
  2. Practice. I think the magic number is 2400 m/s to achieve a stable orbit. So when you get out of kerbins soupy part of atmosphere at 10km try shallower angles to get to orbit. Once you start to get proficient you will notice your circulization burns only gost 30m/s dv or so. You will get the hang of it eventually. ITs very satisfying when you do EDIT: Just noticed you use FAR but still, dont go too shallow until you get above 10km or so
  3. I had another urge to play ksp the other week so decided to do a fresh install and grab some of my old mods. These are mods I've had working before but for the life of me couldnt get working again. I was just wondering if we know when the curse client will support ksp? (i've seen it said that it will be the next curse update) Is this something squad has to work with curse to achieve. Ive really held back on mods due to the above problem and have been waiting for something like curse to come along for a while now. I just want to know when the client will support ksp...im dying, playing this vanilla crap...and im too lazy to get all my mods working the old fashion way! Thanks
  4. Is an AU in KSP interstellar different to an IRL AU? In the SOL system its the average distance from the earth to the sun. According to google that is 149 597 871KM
  5. Get into a circular orbit. Goto map view. Position the map so the Mun is at 12 O'clock. Start burning when your ship is at 3 O'clock until you get an encounter. Done.

    Free to play

http://www.freetoplaythemovie.com/ I'm just curious if anyone else has seen this and their thoughts on it and on esports as a concept. Especially when you see what the Koreans and Chinese are like. Its free to watch and basically follows 3 gamers as they compete in the biggest gaming tournament (with a $1 million grand prize) at the time of filming. Also gives insight into the world of professional gaming. I would love to get the opinion of some parents on this
  7. Personally the ethical/moral problems couldnt concern me less. I eat meat, my ancestors ate meat, so on and so forth. There is meat on my supermarket shelf so I'm gonna buy it. If tomorrow meat were made illegal and insects became the new protien source and they were available packaged on my supermarket shelf then I would buy those too without hesitation All I know is I am an extremely active person, I bench 70kg (nothing special), I exercise alot with the dog, do sports, I very occasionally hunt rabbit (although this is rare as I dont have much time). I like to think if aliens invaded to farm humans as a meat source and use the males for sport, I would be used for breeding purposes. Being the epitome of human perfection that I am, I eat a heck of alot of calories a day and need nutrients (protiens, carbs, acids etc) and yes I can do it without meat but its alot more work. Nuts are just as expensive as meat, cheese is really high in fats (and sometimes really full of salts) quorn is just gross and eating baked potatoes and cheese every day is hard work. Plus eating meat just makes me feel a whole lot better. Do a good 40 minute work out (and i mean bust a proper sweat on, not go for a jog on the treadmill) and tell me meat doesn't make you feel better. From an evolutionary standpoint I'm going to assume we used tools and wit to hunt our food which is why we dont have massive canine teeth like cats and dogs?
  8. I just slapped a lifter together to try and help. I dont know how far in the career you are but you will need mainsails for this and you will need to asparagus stage it (see kerbal x) Although A design error left the final payload with no fuel to go anywhere ( i was trying to copy your design) I didnt bother with SRB's like Jouni and has 7 parts to its lower stage (6 outer, 1 inner) Boy did i find that out the hard way. But according to KER, were the skipper on the final payload fueld. It would have 3148m/s left (minus 35 to finish my 80km circling maneuverr )
  9. The reason I dont use b9 is the sheer amount of parts. Maybe if there was a better parts management system it might work
  10. In its current state career IS sandbox delayed. Need some sort of currency
  11. Still has nothing on uranus's moon, miranda. Instead of incredibly smooth, its the opposite and looks like the space kraken has tried mating with it...maybe methone is the egg from that particular couple.
  12. On v3 on kerbin i dont notcie any cutoff and its all seemless. I've just been to eve. And the atmo cutoff is really in your face. Other than that it looks awesome. I like the thick cloud layers. Of all the places I could have landed I managed to hit some ocean. Going through the 2 cloud layers was fun and I like the sun being completley obscured
  13. Downloaded and played with Thesonicgalaxies's Better atmospheres mod
  14. I just had to try this out and I must thank you for the fantastic job you have done Kerbins atmosphere looks so much better. I havent been to eve yet but looking at it in map view is awesome. My favourite thing is the shadows on the moon and looking at kerbin from the mun. Thank you. +1 Rep NOTE: I swear this has improved my frame rate. I had to put something together to take a peak at it all.
  15. Precisely. I only need to know enough to make a combustion engine work
  16. Of course...Gravity The mind really does go blank sometimes. It was Diffusion i was thinking of but now that you have pointed it out, it does indeed not mean what I was trying to explain. Which is fine it was just sitting in my memory not wanting to come out. Thats what happens when you try to remember something you learnt 10 years ago Knew it began with a D because I had dispersion in my head but thats not even close. "Air will rush to fill a vacuum" as long as thats true (which i already knew) then my argument stands valid. I just thought there was a word for it. That does explain why I couldnt find one
  17. I'm in the middle of an argument about engines and have to dumb down something for someone. So like the title says. My basic understanding is air will always push its way to fill a vacuum to make equal pressure. Or in the case of a car engine. Possitive pressure (say 2xatmo pressure) will try and equalise itself with the atmospheric pressure and take the shortest route to do so. Does anyone know the technical term for this effect? Also as this is the case. what keeps all our air from escaping into the vacuum of space and be left with an airless husk of a world? I wanna say the earths magnetic field. Has anyone got a link which could explain this in more detail for me? Thanks guys.
  18. See, i was a big fan of the old skool leveling systems (in morrowind there were alot more things to level) but skyrims is really good too. I also miss the way you advance in guilds in morrowind. If you wanted to get big in the mages guild...u had to be a ****ing pimp ass mage.
  19. well now the gaunlet is laid!!!!! And your challenge accepted good sir!!!! Insult my manly-ness once more and i will be forced to take drastic action!!!!!!!! (imagine that in all caps)
  20. If i was a rich ****er and there was world peace and the whole world was united in the goal of space exploration and I decided to attach a bunch of rockets to the side of the moon...and also I can put a massive rocket on the side of the moon (im magic icarnate) How much thrust would I need to alter the moons orbit to crash into the earth (you know...for ****s and giggles) if we know how much thrust we need and how long we need to burn for at that given thrust...then how much (using current rockets as a baseline) would it cost and how huge would it be?
  21. If you are quite happy with norton then why change? I had to use avg for a short period after my norton expired and I hated it, it thinks all my games are viruses! Stick with what you know
  22. Its a good thing i am putting the finishing touches on my Kethane powered ssto for my own scenario. Just need to fill it with kerbals...i mean kethane! I hope Kerbal attachment system is permitted though? Need to use it for retractable fuel lines
  23. I couldnt agree more. KSP was the first "early access" game i bought on steam (back in 0.19) and all i can say is, its ruined almost all other early access games for me. They are all bare husks of the game the developers promise them to be. It baffles me how early in developement some of these games are. Interstellar marines is one of them. Now i outright refuse to play early access/alpha. You just dont know how long the developers will take to make the game they advertise. When I bought ksp it felt like a copletley finished game. They could have stopped updating it then and there and I would have got my moneys worth. Time spent on call of duty (AAA Game @£50) 16 hours. Time spent on KSP (small dev team, no big advertising campaign @£10 or whatever it was back then) 840 hours. Its only 400 hours behind my total dota 2 playtime! Best educational game I ever did play. My only gripe now is MODS. I really could do with a nexus or steamworkshop to keep all my mods in one place and updated automatically. Probably the biggest reason i dont use many mods. Some of them require so many other mods its hard to keep track sometimes
