1. Well I had a different experience, and found it easier to leave and reenter. I'm not the only one either. Google reveals a lot of other people who wanted it modded back.
2. I started around .16 and played quite a bit until the patch that broke aerodynamics for me and made it to hard to play. Now I'm back and managed to mod it back close to what it was and having fun again on career mode. I think it's funny the guy above me called it a "garbage aerodynamics model." while it was unrealistic it was funner IMHO. I lost interest as its a game and supposed to be fun and will never be entirely real anyways.
3. Thanks guys. I figured it out. Its not quite the same but it' close now.
4. So is there any mods that revert the aerodynamics back to what they were before that overhaul in the alpha? I bought this game way back and use to play it a lot and like it until that overhaul ruined the game for me. I no longer found it fun and stopped(I don't care if it was unrealistic its a game and is still unrealistic anyway). I checked back on release and didn't see any mods only some others requesting the same thing, but I'm hoping by now or is it just not possible to mod that aspect of the game? I am tempted to give ksp another go, but I gave up on the new system back then as it was just to hard, and Im a casual player with only a few hours to play after work here and there.
5. Oops my bad I missed it thanks! I just got this along with all the recommended mods besides planetshine(says it's outdated) to work, and the game looks so much better! Thanks for all of the hard work :). Maybe this time around I will make it past the Mun.. I did take a small FPS hit it tends to drop low when coming back in from orbit as textures pop-in(goes from 60 to 15-30fps), but it's manageable.
6. Well I moved the folders under GameData, and I still do not notice any change. I am using 64bit as well. I see other people with screenshots showing clouds, or city lights and a better looking Kerbin, but I still do not see any in my game. I know some of the mods bundled are working though, as I see the glow effect and the sun glare(which is great!). But not all the details I am seeing in others screenshots here? Note I have also gotten into orbit to check, and the planet looks the same as stock Kerbal really. *edit* I did just notice something wierd. Under the StockVisualEnhancements folder I only see one subfolder for Eve. Should the other planets have a folder as well? *double edit* So I fixed the problem lol! I feel stupid, but I just had the folders in the wrong place minus scatterer for some reason. Anyways I just deleted them all and redownloaded and now I see the new graphics. Thanks for the great mod! Is there someway to see all of the different glare effects in game? I don't see screenshots of them anywhere for the Galileo sun flares, and I am not sure which to pick.
7. So I have returned to KSP after a long Hiatus(before launch actually lol), and am trying to install this mod along with SVT. I am starting with trying to install SVE, as when I do both I cannot get past the main menu. Clicking on load or a new games does literally nothing no matter how many times I click the load or start buttons. So I deleted SVT, and am simply trying to run SVE at the moment. Scatterer obviously works as it pops-up an options dialog when I load KSP, and I see the sun flare and atmospheric effects. However, SVE seems to not be working as I see the default planet(no clouds, etc). I copy/pasted the mod files to the gamedata folder and left them in the SVE HR 1.07 default like the readme says? What am I doing wrong here? Note I am trying to run the x64 version if that matters, and I am using the stock game. I literally just installed it, and tried your mod with no other mods or anything. Thanks for any help!
8.
MaGicBush, please try a clean boot to eliminate conflicting software and drivers. Also, please try copying KSP to C:\Games if it's not there already, as the location of KSP on your file system may be a factor. And upload your output_log .txt from KSP_Data to dropbox. Most likely it is the Unity bug here for all three of you, please check for and disable any software that uses a virtual network connection. KaiserMagnus, for you it looks to be the Nvidia streaming software.
Yep I guess Hamachi was causing the issue. I uninstalled it and it loaded up normally. That is a very wierd bug, why would it even try to use a network adapter to load local files lol? It still should be fixed, and I shouldn't have to uninstall a program I use to play(luckily right now I am not using it, but me and a friend play Project Zomboid a lot which we use that program for). Thanks for the help! I was about to uninstall it and not look back.
9.
There is "settings.cfg" in KSP root directory, open it with text editor and compare this section with yours
CALL_HOME = False DONT_SEND_IP = True SEND_PROGRESS_DATA = False CHECK_FOR_UPDATES = False VERBOSE_DEBUG_LOG = False
. Change everything to as you see above. If game still loading too long, disable all unused network adapters(by that i mean adapters that don't have connection).
I am having the same issue and changed the setting to what you showed above, but it did not help. I also tried reinstalling KSP, and verifying the cache to no avail. I played KSP fine with 1.01, and all versions before that. All my other games are loading and working fine right now as well still. I am disappointed as I have not played since 1.0, and decided to give it another go now but it takes FOREVER to load. Literally just loading one thing during startup every 3-5 seconds which makes it unplayable for me since I only have a few hours a night to play considering I have a life outside of KSP. Windows 7 X64 GTX 770 8GB RAM I5-4670 I am using Avast and tried disabling that as well which made no difference.
10. I last played before the 1.01 and .02 patches, and my rocket worked fine to get into orbit. Now when I launch it tips over on the launch pad before I can launch? I do not have the science yet to get the support things to hold it up what am I supposed to do? I can get it to launch if I quickly hit z and then space, but it's still at an angle as it fell slightly. I tried a few things like putting a decoupler on the bottom engine, and adding some small fuel boosters on each side to help balance it on the pad, but it still falls over . http://steamcommunity.com//sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=437592177 The times I get it to launch and go straight like I want it to, once I hit 10km it also just immediately starts flipping like crazy? Even if I do not turn at all... This patch is putting me off to the game .
11. No I am disappointed honestly, and I do not understand why they want to rush to a release just to tick off some new customers expecting a polished game. There are a lot of bugs and optimizations that I assumed(and they stated) would be fixed during "beta than ever" and we got one update and then 1.0 lol. 64-bit doesn't even really work yet I mean what? This game is in much better state than other EA games that went "1.0" at least, but it's not there yet. Hopefully post 1.0 they will polish it enough to be worthy of that title. I am also very disappointed that clouds were never added, and the planets were never re-made as they are very bland and look like an alpha build lol.
12. Alright thanks for some reason I didn't see it on the KSP mod store, but I guess it's just on the forums at the moment. Good to see it's updated to 2.3 as well! Intersteller looks fun to, time to choose one and start playing again .
13. Well I have yet to mod Kerbal other than Chatter a long time ago, and am wanting to work on modding Kerbal a bit more to add some kind of end-game depth/goal. I just cannot seem to ever get myself to much into Kerbal without having a reason to visit places other than bragging rights. I tried playing the campaign, but at this point there is not much to it. I heard there is a mod that adds Kethane or something like that into the game which sounds fun, as having to setup resource mining stations at various places to refuel, etc would definitely add a big layer to the game for me. However I am unable to find it on the Kerbal mod store, or anything like that. Thanks for any mod suggestions that may fit into what I am looking for!
14. Ah lol, I had 6 flights built up and was trying to transmit data instead of just recovering. I kept sending flights out and figured out how to transmit data via the antennae by right clicking the actual capsule instead of the antennae after the post, by landing on Kerbal and transmitting the crew reports. There needs to be a pop-up or something definitely to make that obvious as I fiddled around the last few hours launching multiple ships till I finally figured out the antennae, and did not realize I could just recover my ship by hovering the mouse over the altimeter up top(the mouse is not needed much in flight nor do I have any reason to go up there with the mouse). Thanks also for letting me know about going to the tracking center to recover, as I was able to go there and retrieve all of those flights. I still only ended up with 10 science from all of those sadly, so I wasted a lot of time . Also thanks SRV Ron for the tips I will use them .
