  1. I thought you and I were waiting for a scenario? How many Sai are an even match for a Razorcat? Wait, that's a trick question. If the Razorcat gets the first shot, then the answer is none.
  2. In light of rising hostilities, SSI is rushing several modifications of the Razorcat and pushing for a partially complete refueling station in LKO. SSI has announced that it will be dispatching a group of Razorcats to support Spiritwolf and it's allies in the Lathe system as well as sending a strike group into Vall. SSI declined to release details as to the flight plan and attack trajectory. The Razorcat has undergone an armor refit and is now capable of taking on even heavy capital ships from greater distances from modern torpedo bombers. SSI also announced that it has plans for a large fuel tanker and a ammo transport vessel. Both will be deployed in the near future.
  3. I'm playing around with the design for the Horizon station. I will be doing it as strut connected and launching the whole ring at once.
  4. Few options. 1)refuel before burning. If you have RCS and docking ports and can maneuver it fairly effectively, then it is dockable and you can just hyperedit refuel unless you want to run the full refuel mission. 2)add drop tanks and/or a booster stage for the interplanetary transfer. 3)relegate it to LKO combat. I need more info on the ship to give any more good options.
  5. There is a nice technique I've seen where people clip the tail spikes into the side of a 2.5m engine and slap on 9 1.25m engines. I also wonder if you could set it up to be 4 1.25m engines and a mainsail . . .
  6. You should name the one made out of toroidal tanks the bannana tank. XD
  7. Obliterate the entire planet: 1) remove all satellites from orbit (when in doubt, nuke em and shoot em off into the sun!) 2) place as many large heavy objects in sun-stationary orbit along the prograde terminator as possible. 3) wait several thousand years as the satellites' gravity accelerates earth's orbit into the asteroid belt. 4) whitness large space rocks obliterating the planet. 5) eat cake.
  8. no and no. 1 week building, too short, 10-14 days says I. 1 week voting, perfect.
  9. Have a look at this: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/33323-PLUGIN-PARTS-Development-0-20-tek-Industries-Science-v0-4-0 Dunno if it would work exactly for your wants but it could turn your station into a processing facility for collected samples.
  10. Well, I beefed the armoring on the Razorcat and now it can really take some punishment. It's now at about 250 parts but for tough shell, that's worth it.
  11. Mine is still in for some tinkering but it will be ready for a proper submission very soon. In an effort to make an orbiter vehicle that could maximize it's operational potential and teach valuable lessons about orbital maneuvering, rendezvous, docking, and refueling, here is a teaser of what I plan to submit:
  12. Glad this challenge is back. Time to get to work!
  13. Lazor docking cam is amazing. Fine controls also help. Note, percision is everything when you are like me and building a space ring docking station.
  14. I believe the guy who made Ferram Aerospace now workd for Squad, so we can expect something like it when they get around to improving the aerodynamics.
  15. I use a Saitek X52 Pro which is awesome. It has 3 axes on the stick including twist, a throttle, slider, and two rotary dials on the throttle for a total of 7 axes.
  16. Yeah, stuff has to go up perfectly to get the Quantum struts to link the rings together. The main ring is also gonna have a piece on top that will decouple and jettison via escape tower and it will hold it structurally during launch against G forces and Kerbin gravity. EDIT: That means I need RCS so . . . ****, more parts
  17. This is Horizon Station and is what I will be assembling. It is planned to go up in 4 launches. Some of it needs a little reworking and most of the struts between the two rings will be replaced with Quantum struts (because they are going up separately).
  18. okay, I got something pieced together right now. The plan is to build the entire Horizon station and then use subassembly manager to take the pieces, save them, and launch them separately. The ring(s) WILL be going up as one piece. Also, they need to be functional. This is a refueling station and i need docking ports, lots of them. EDIT: Note, I am using the KW rocketry medium struts to hold this thing together. Sheer strength of 42000.
  19. I was aiming for much smaller. Also, does clipping connect or otherwise fuse parts together?
  20. How on earth do you assemble a ring shaped space station? Or at least one using octagonal symmetry. Note, I am not downloading the ring station parts (there already are some). My new Horizon station is going to be built ring structure but I don't know how to get it to work . Can anyone explain it? because I just can't get the stuff to connect when I try.
  21. There are 2 options here. My orbital refueling infrastructure is back in .20.2 and .21 has bad lag for me so here are the options: 1) I hyperedit refuel because I am not about to send up a second mission to refuel it. The new space center and the oceans cause enough lag for me as it is. It has 5 docking ports and plenty of RCS fuel so I know it CAN do it. 2) The craft is stock in .21.1 but I can recreate it with some KSPX parts in .20.2 and then use my existing refueling infrastructure to demo it. Obviously I will still submit the stock 21.1 version.
