  1. ok, i just have to practice this interplanetary travels. my burns rides are very unefficient. i quickloaded several times. i never use the same amount of delta-v. not even close. but the solution with the refuel ship was succesful. maybe not the smartest and cheapest way, but it worked
  2. Rescued my 2 man team from Duna orbit. They did science there and ran out of fuel to get back to kerbin and land safe. Though they had enough fuel to get into Duna orbit and redock to interplanetary stage So a refuelling ship was sent. Docking and refueling: So they made it to kerbin, with the misplacement of the landerlegs they had to get down in the ocean. They did it kerbal style: Kerbals alive and science saved! Thats why i love this game. Something goes not as planned and u got to figure out if and how u can deal with that. And if u succeed its so awesome!
  3. yeah iam not the best at interplanetary travel yet. I only sent some probes and this lander farther than minmus. So i try to get some fuel to duna and refuel my lander to reach kerbin orbit. i dont think iam ready for aerobreaking into orbit yet. But i`ll try that. Thx for the tipps.
  4. Yeah that was the first plan. The problem is, that the lander cant do that: I forgot to rearrange the landerlegs after several redesigns. So it would hit the ground with the engines first. And it only has 2 of even landing on the Engines wouldnt work. I want it to get into kerbin orbit and then dock some kind of landerleg-module. I dont wanna give up that first Dunalander ^^
  5. Hello, i am trying to get back from Duna to Kerbin. This Delta- V map suggests it would only take 110 Delta V. http://i.stack.imgur.com/bNAIZ.png This wiki says i need 600 delta-v to rach kerbin orbit (from duna orbit): http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Duna When i set my intercept waypoint i get this: Thats more than half of my delta v only for intercept. Not even get into orbit at kerbin. Am i doing something wrong?
  6. Sent an unmanned probe to Eve and landed it. Sent the same probe to Moho, messed up the rendevouz and ran out of fuel. Had to transfer fuel from landerstage to interplanetary stage get an orbit around Moho. Wasnt able to land the probe :-( . Missed by approximately 10s thrust :-(
  7. First time encountering Eve. Was stunned by the beautiful view!
  8. i like that idea using the girder segment to bypass the engines. If its stable enough at launch its really way more easier.
  9. Ok i abondoned the idea with the quadcoupler and attached 2 of the enngines radial to the main fuel tank: Added some more boosters. Now i get into kerbin orbit ( i bet its not very fuel efficent ) without using fuel from the atomic engines. i ll try that quad-port-coupling next time ;-) .
  10. Ah thx for the advices with the 4 docking ports and decouplers. dont know why i put the quadcoupler direct at the engine. maybe i should go to bed i used 4 atomic engines, because the burntime gets too long. and so its less accurate. but yeah maybe 2 engines are enough.
  11. Hello, i got some problem with constructing rockets with bi-couplers or quad-couplers. I want to get four nuclear engines on the tank and use the quadcoupler. I cant put the decoupler directly on the 4 engines (for staging). So i use another quadcoupler at the end of the four engines and attach the decoupler to that quadcoupler. see image: So it looks weird cause only one engine seems to be attached to the 2nd quadcoupler. At launch the quadcoupler breaks and i think its cause it isnt fully attached. Am I right or is it normal that the other three engines are visible?
  12. Saved Jeb from the mun today. First Kerbal on the mun, but without enough fuel to get home: landed approximatly 500meters away from jeb (just for safety reasons ;-) ). Jeb was pretty happy to see some other kerbals after lotsof days alone on the mun. reentry, forgot to pack the solarpanels. jeb was the only one who was amused. safe landing, and awesome look at the moon in the dawn on Kerbin.
  13. My Jeb is stuck on the Mun. No fuel left for the return, but Bill and Bob are on the way to get him home. At least he wass the first on the mun (for lots of days
  14. Where can i see the weight and the DV of my rocket? In some threads they speak of how much dv you need to escape (for example) from mun and reenter kerbin atmosphere. But i cant see my potential dv anywhere. Is it only possible with mods? Same for the weight of the ship.
