1. For those who didn't watch the squadcast, they revealed a new feature coming in .24. We are finally getting fine control for maneuver nodes!
2. I joined in .19 when I saw it on steam and I was like"Rockets? Explosions? Sign me up!"
3. I tried to build a space shuttle with a working cargo bay. It failed miserably. I tried to make a space shuttle without a cargo bay, and it failed. And i said to myself "I really want a cargo bay, and since i don't like part packs, I'll have to come up with something crazy!" And this was born: the Skyrend 2s Here it is carrying an interplanetary ion probe at the lower end of it's mass limit. I have put on a hitchhiker and it fits in the space but since it would certainly explode and kill 5 kerbals i decided not to try. Also, it will try to murder you on reentry unless you know the secret, and i don't.
4. If this is true, you've discovered an Easter egg for the first time! However, I can't shake the feeling that I would have seen something like that.
5. After seeing everyone's suggestions, it's hard for me to choose since i was considering all of those. If anything, i would want a cargo bay because even though i ave made one with stock parts, it's a long and involved process and symmetry doesn't work well with it. And I really want to build a shuttle without having to download mods. P.S. Naten, your signature is hilarious!
6. I think that saving vehicles in that sense would be really cool, and i expect something like that will show up once budget is fully implemented. I once had a space craft that was designed to be reusable, but it didn't have enough fuel to get back to kerbin so it ended up being a Laythe station, despite the protests of the crew.
7. Laythe feels like home to me. Laythe just seems like a happy planet. A place for kerbals to chill on the beach for the next few years waiting for a return window
8. If you aren't using any life support mods, it would be more efficient to launch into a standard equatorial orbit and then burn to meet the Mun at it's ascending/descending node. However, if time is of the essence(which it probably won't be unless you have some kind of life support mod) launch into the inclined orbit so that your Kerbals don't die.
9. I think Eeloo is pretty underrated. Most people only see it as the farthest planet and that there's no real reason to go there, but it's fun to explore and has some things going for it. Eeloo is the lowest gravity place that you can still sprint on, it has the shortest rotational period of any object in the game, and if you see the sun from Eeloo's apoapsis it's quite a sight(it's my profile pic). Just don't let the kerbals get into snowball fights while you're exploring.
10. I've heard that tweakables in .23 will let you choose how much fuel you start with, but take that with a grain of salt because i'm not a dev and don't know for sure
11. I love going to Eeloo. It's so desolate, so far from the sun, and it just seems, as the an Apollo astronaut famously said, "magnificent desolation". Plus, it's the smallest body you can sprint on, so it's fun to sprint then jump and faceplant in the ice.
12. I was actually thinking that if i ever end up on the ISS, i'll bring KSP on a USB so i can space while i space, in space.
13. I tore through the atmosphere of Jool in my first attempt at a grand tour ship. Unfortunately, it only had enough fuel to establish laythe orbit and then deposit it's two landers. Also, it took copious amount of quicksaving, as do all of my aerobrakes.
14. I can't wait for this. It's definitely on my top three for features i want to see.
15. My landed probe on Moho reads 000.00000 on it's temperature, so i hope they do something about it.
16. Landing? Easy enough. Spacestations? I can do that fine. SSTOs? Not a chance. I have nightmares about the hideous whine of the jet engines, the rocket vainly attempting to push the plane out of the atmosphere. It's a horrifying experience. I've tried everything i know how to do, but stupid physics won't cooperate with me. One day, many, countless years into the future, i might possibly maybe make a successful SSTO. But not today. Or the next 5-1000 years.
17. I've got 12 Kerbals locked up in Harmony Station, but I only have two spaceplanes to bring them down so it will be a slow start back on Kerbin. Or they will crash in my poorly designed planes and kerbal kind will be done for. It could go either way really.
18. If you're going to make a lookout tower, definitely use the cupola module or even the mk1 cockpit. Both have a lot of window space, especially if you double click on the windows.
19. Throw a few Kerbals into Kerbol. For Science, of course.
20. So I was messing around in the Station One scenario, trying to blow it up with Whack-a-Kerbal. However, it didn't work, so I went back to the space center to see if it would fix it. When I opened up the tracking station screen i saw this: It's called Kerbal XX and it orbits Duna in an elliptical orbit. I tried to land it, but one radial parachute isn't enough for that poor three-man capsule. This has probably already been found, but it was fun for me to fins this. And if you don't believe me, go check your own scenario.
21. I'd recommend Duna or Eve because of their gravity. If you're going to eve though, when you flip it's over. Also Gilly, where you will fly 3000 meters in the air if you hit the ground with your wheel.
22. I'm feeling the need to science! Plus, i haven't visited Eve yet in this save, so i know where i'm going!
23. I don't know if anyone knows this, but a scan with a seismic accelorometer on Moho's surface is worth 500 science points! I'm not sure if it's the most valuable piece of data in the game, but it is worth the long trip. And i know for sure because i just landed on Moho 10 minutes ago. If you know any other very high science values please post them so that i can science them
24. Who said anything about paying them?
25. If NASA came to you and said that you can take a probe anywhere in the solar system to look for life, what celestial body would you send it to, and why? Personally, I would send one to Enceladus, because it has a high probability of liquid water oceans close under the surface. What do you think?
