  1. I just wanted to say a big thank-you to all the mod-makers out there. When I first started playing KSP I swore I wouldn't use mods; I didn't see the point. However, I now have 9 mods installed, and no doubt I'll be installing more in the future! I realise now just how much they accentuate and compliment this awesome game. Whether it's CrewXFer, or E.V.E, or Engineer. Even little things like the DistantObject mod which dims the background stars. I haven't a clue how it does it, and it's just a small detail, but it adds so much. I know you probably prefer some kind of financial reward for your efforts; I know these things take a lot of your free time to create. If I could offer money, I would. But I hope this little thank-you goes some way toward giving you the recognition and appreciation you deserve. So on behalf of all Kerbonauts everywhere, young and old, veteran and novice, I thank-you.
  2. I was playing 0.23.5. in Career Mode. Then I upgraded to 0.24.2. I transferred all my ships, Career Mode, sub-assemblies, saves over and launched the game. Everything was as I expected; I could launch my ships in the VAB regardless of the cost, because I was playing in Career Mode, and had unlocked everything. Only now, it won't let me launch ANY of my ships; it keeps telling me "Not enough funds to launch". What's changed? One minute I could launch any vessel I had created prior to upgrade, now it won't let me. I need to be clear on this: Does First Contract change Career Mode in such a way that it still requires funds? If so, then I still don't understand why it let me launch these vessels before. I was playing 0.24.2 in Career Mode. I selected "Tim- Career" in the menu screen. I loaded a ship, and launched it. Now it won't let me. And the only way to get funds is through Mission Control, First Contract, but that's not what I selected. I was playing Career Mode! Unless of course Mission Control is now part of Career Mode? Grr. I have dozens of vessels in the VAB; I earned everything in Career Mode; I have over 20000 science points, I unlocked everything in R&D. I guess I'll have to stick to 0.23.5 unless I want to do it all over again. :/
  3. Kerbin looks awesome. http://www./view/1sf5rp88tg3ayya/screenshot1.jpg Mun looks....umm, weird. http://www./view/029ad2wrbbf2gc6/screenshot2.jpg I removed all but the default mods, then reinstalled E.V.E. It does indeed seem to be the cause, but I can't figure out which setting/s are responsible, if any. EDIT: I figured it out. KSP was reading a setting in a CFG file from another pack, which included a line putting a glow on the Mun. All I did was remove this one line, and the glow around the Mun was gone.
  4. OK, I just downloaded 0.24.2-x64, and finally got everything running. It looks amazing. I was especially pleased to see all my Career Mode achievements, ships, sub-assemblies had carried over too. Just one little question about the Mun's surface. It seems to have an atmosphere, or glow, when viewed from orbit. I have flares in DOE disabled; what are the flares it is referring to? Camera flares? It looks like a camera flare, because everything looks normal from the surface. It's only visible from orbit or at a distance. FYI here's all the mods now listed in the GameData folder: 000_Toolbar BoulderCo CrewXfer DistantObject Engineer EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements Squad NASAmission UniverseReplacer toolbar-settings.dat LICENSE ModuleManager.2.1.5.dll I'm just trying to work out which mod's settings I need to change - if possible -to fix the Mun's glow. If it weren't for this teeny tiny little detail I'd finally be happy.
  5. I installed the toolbar on 0.23.5.464, and got a message about incompatibility. But the toolbar still appeared, the DOE interface was all glitched out and wouldn't appear properly.
  6. Which version? I downloaded the DOE version from the first post. I kinda assumed it would work with 0.23, but obviously not. And I didn't even know there was a KSP v0.24.2...I can't keep track. I only recently downloaded the 64-bit version of 0.23.5.464. I really want this DOE mod, it would add so much more realism to KSP.Ah well.
  7. Blizzy's toolbar? What's that? The only links in the first post were to the DOE itself; no mention of a required toolbar. Sometimes I hate plugins and mods; I am so confused as to what is what and what needs what. :/ I know it's a naive question, but why the hell can't all of these mods and general enhancements be part of the actual, purchased, downloaded game
  8. Is this mod compatible with 0.23? I'm playing v0.23.5.454 and I cannot get this mod to work. I installed it to the "!KSP/GameData" folder but there's no interface at all in the Space Center. The mods I have installed in my "!KSP\GameData" folder are as follows: BoulderCo CrewXfer DistantObject Engineer EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements NASAmission Squad UniverseReplacer All other mods have installed correctly. The installation instructions state: Merge the given GameData folder with KSP's GameData folder, which I have done. In addition, if you are using a custom planet mod: Extract the relevant "DistantObject" folder inside "Alternate Planet Color Configs" The only mods listed in the "Alternate Planet Color Configs" folder are these: Alternis Kerbol PlanetFactory (default) Real Solar System (default) Real Solar System (metaphor's PlanetFactory config) I have none of these mods installed and they are not a requirement of DistantObject, are they? So I do not need to copy the folder to this location. What am I doing wrong? I've installed every other mod and texture pack correctly. I have a feeling it doesn't work with 0.23.
  9. Thanks lars for this, though for some reason the Engineer parts in my VAB are just greyed out and inaccessible. I can't click them or drag them onto anything (if I try doing what you did, clicking on the Sputnik robotic probe, the Engineer parts just remain static and unclickable). Sorry but sometimes I really hate these mods because they're often badly explained, and inexperienced users like me just get frustrated and wonder why they bother.
  10. I may be as thick as a whale omelette, but no matter where I put these files this plugin doesn't show up in game. I'm running 0.23.464 and to test it I went to my space station and tried to transfer crew from one pod to another. No matter where I clicked the only thing that appears is the standard 'transfer fuel' dialog; 'transfer crew' is not there. Does it only work with command pods, or does it work with habitation pods and the science lab as well? The directories I tried: D:\KSP\!KSP program\GameData\CrewXfer\Plugins D:\KSP\!KSP program\GameData\CrewXfer D:\KSP\!KSP program\Plugins Just where exactly is each file supposed to be? Most mods I've seen tend to have install instructions, just in case. PS: OK I just noticed joed_'s post. Apparently I need ModuleManager, maybe?
