  1. LOL, yeah just maybe. I'm trying to adapt your idea into an all in one fueler/refinery ship that can go to minmus and back to kerbin LKO to fuel ships. I have a few already but they have multiple engines (vertical and horizontal) and I like your simpler design with one engine, but I'd like to try something with better fuel consumption since most of the travel will be in space. I'm thinking aerospikes. Good to get off the planet and not a terrible burn in space.
  2. Do you find that you have enough power to continually drill and process the ore? or is it a drill then refine kind of method?
  3. Tweaked PIP a little, got over a 100k orbit with over 800dv left. Happy with my little ship. - - - Updated - - - Astrobond, can you upload the craft file? I'd love to take a look at it. Been following your B.O.B. post, and they're pretty cool. Love the rocket SSTO.
  4. Got my mini liquid SSTO spaceplane into a 100k orbit today. Now to get a station there to refuel him and it'll have about 3k of dv to go.
  5. After coming home from working a 15 hour shift, and having a few beers, I finally made a jet/rocket vtol ssto that makes LKO (75K) with about 600 dv left. Great for LKO rescue missions or station transfers. Who knew drunk me was a better engineer than I thought.
  6. Messed around with my miner/fuel ship, the peacock. Easier than having 2 crafts. Just need to get the fuel balance down. I have an probe ship thats a little smaller that works better.
  7. Nice. I've been doing some similar work myself. I also have been working with ssto lifters. I've got a refuel station at minmus, so as long as I can get a ship there it keeps going. Most have around 4200d/v at the start. Downside is they need big engines to get off, so the fuel efficiency isn't that great. This one is completing a few contracts for orbital stations at once, with a bunch of kerbals to earn XP (need engineers leveled up for gas mining and gas stops)

  9. Once you scan a body, do you need to keep the probe with the scanner in orbit to keep the overlay? Trying to clean up all the ships that aren't needed. Thanks.

  11. Changed the AP to 800km, got one already, thanks guys. Now for the time consuming orbits to get the others... I'm sticking to rescue missions and station missions.
  12. Hah forgot about my asteroid tug...yeah I keep the names simple but fun sometimes. I'm afraid if I change the orbit it'll take me too far above the site location. But I'll give it a shot.
  13. Accepted a contract to do Grav Scans on Jool, set up in a polar orbit as that would let me pass by the locations easier. But I keep going right between or just past the areas. Altitude is correct. Any good orbits to suggest or other solutions? Been at this for 4 hours now.
  14. So with the new Offset ability I have been wondering if anyone else has considered if clipping as an acceptable way to build. Example: Normal construction Selecting with offset and moved into tank I'm half and half on it. I find it helpful but feels like cheating. Thoughts?
  15. Found it. Yeah the default for max active orbital station and bases are 2 each. OK so this answers my question.

Agreed with AlexinTokyo As long as you accept the contracts (as I just accepted 2 orbital station contracts at once, one kerbal orbit station and one laythe orbit station) you can use the same ship. Just put the same ship into kerbal orbit (contract complete) and then into laythe orbit (contract complete) Problem was I didn't see any other orbital station contracts spawn before launch. Kept skipping ahead 10 days, check and another 10 days about 6 times and nothing. - - - Updated - - - I'm thinking the most efficient way to go is to accept as many lander and orbit station contracts, and make a ship able to visit, land, orbit and return from all those locations. Probably easier if the orbit and lander contract were same planet. But again, never seen more than 2 contracts for the same
  17. Trying to knock out a bunch of contracts in one go. Figured I'd build an orbital station and take it from planet to planet, but there only seems to be 2 orbital station contracts offered at a time. Is there only 2 contracts per type offered at a time? Seems that way.
  18. Having same issue. Restarted and deleted ship file. Waiting to see if it happens again.
  19. Tried this fix as well, but still can't seem to get it to work. Not sure If I'm missing crew or put it in wrong. I was missing Bob Kerman and Romal Kerman. Added them at the end. My File. - - - Updated - - - ok nevermind last. Apparently an important step to editing is to SAVE the file. Gah need coffee.
