The VTOL rocket platform was mainly designed to lift

an enourmous amount of weight to an altitue of about 20.000 meters.

From there on, the rocket will start their engines and boosters.

The VTOL rocket platform is 100% reusable and is also capable of moving

a whole rocket to another location on kerbin. This system is very

cheap and can replace the first stage of every rocket. Orbit missions can

be archived by just using one Booster and a small tank of fuel.

Cool idea, but you are not using it to it's full potential.

Why not add some horizontal speed as well?

Above 14000m it should not be too difficult to get a horizontal velocity of around 1000m/s and that would put you at nearly half of orbital velocity...

With more air intakes you could probably also get higher and faster.

I'll need to look at building one of these as a first stage money saver...

Thank you Terwin! That are good ideas. I will upgrate the VTOL rocket platform with more air intakes and can add horizontal velocity by turning the craft to the side. I will create a new prototype and show it here :)

Shouldn´t this thread be moved to the Spacecraft Exchange? I mean, its a spacecraft!

All craft you want to share normally go there, and you can also download other people´s creations on this place.
