Challenge: Insert three crew capsules in orbit, return home.

Recommended Posts

32 Rockets Fire in the 1st stage. the 18 Liquid rockets continue to fire in the second stage.

It requires 55 SAS units to keep going up. At 150k the SAS units are deactivated and the rocket makes an uncontrolled, but gentle rotation towards the horizon.

The SAS units are enabled again and it builds up orbital speed.

After liquid rocket detachment it is easy to maneuver.

Not a 'beast' as long as you are gentle with it when it still has the main liquid rockets.

Apparently, my Behemoth design with small modifications can deliver the following payload to 40-60 km orbit depending on how efficiently you do it.

Returning to Kearth with the command module is pretty trivial. De-orbit burn and then decide whether you want to do a powered landing or a parachute landing.

I have to say, though, that the couplings between the command modules are not from the most durable end of scale, even on Kerbal terms, so you have to consider how fast you can maneuver the craft during ascent...
