Fold-out solar panels, once deployed, can't fold back up?

Title explains pretty much everything. I've only noticed this after I came back to KSP 1.0 after a long break, so it's conceivable I'm missing something and it's infact not a bug, just a mistake on my part. I do have batteries on the crafts that have this problem. Not sure what else I might be missing.

It's not a bug, it's one of the reasons they're lighter and cheaper essentially they're designed craft that will not be reentering an atmosphere, lightweight ore scanners or permanent moon bases for example.

The later ones in the tech tree can be retracted.

Yeah, the shielded panels in boxes can be retracted, the unshielded ones cannot be.

Only the STAT (obviously), the OX-4W and the OX-4L can not be retracted. The others (Gigantor, SP-W and SP-L) can be retracted.

It's a change in 1.0 IIRC and easy to miss; I learnt when trying to retract the unshielded ones just before my eve surface probe (brick) hit the atmosphere

Oh ok, I figured that might be the case but wasn't sure.

BTW, wasn't an engineer able to retract all the panels?

I don't think so, only manually deploy them (if you ran out of EC)
