Best Current Weapon Mods for KSP thru Steam

What are some current good weapon mods I should add to KSP? I am new to the game and play it through Steam. I tried a Laser Guided Missile Mod but had no luck getting it to run.  Directions said to install all contents into KSP_Win . I can't find said file anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated.

For easy mods installation/management, look for CKAN.

KSP_Win is the KSP root folder. For Steam it is Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Kerbal Space Program

 

BDArmory is a really good weapons mod.

also, CKAN isn't 100% user friendly. It is best if you learn how to install mods manually before using it.
