API to rotate/zoom the internal IVA camera?

Does anyone know how to control the IVA camera from a mod, in a way that emulates moving the mouse and scrolling the mouse wheel?

I've looked at the properties of InternalCamera.Instance but haven't found anything useful. There are properties for max/min values but there is no mention of setting zoom or rotation. FlightCamera/PlanetariumCamera have camPitch, camHdg and Distance properties, but there doesn't appear to be anything equivalent in InternalCamera. I also found some discussion on this from a while back (thread linked below) but no method was found...
