Anyone know why the move tool is crap now?

In previous versions I don't remember having such a terrible experience with the move tool. Even with angle snap off it jumps around constantly, can't put things where I need them and constantly have to redesign AROUND the UI, instead of having the UI serve me properly.

Are you talking about the linear translation tool? I've noticed that with snap-on, radially attached parts will sink in or out when it's not even the axis I was moving. I always have to switch grid snap off. Should be an easy bug to fix IMO!

yes, I've noticed some irregular behavior with that tool.

IIRC quitting out (maybe it was rebooting?) and it was OK

ALSO: Any time I notice any wierd behavior in the VAB/SPH I quit out and don't save the file.  I THINK the VAB goes wonky and we build the kraken into our own ships and take him with us, only to pop up later in the mission. A stable experince in the VAB equals a stable .craft file

I think I can see what they were trying to do with the snap....  If you're close to the very center of something, the snap will put it dead-center.  I find it very useful for perfectly centering command seats, etc.  The sucking-things-below-the-surface bug is unfortunate.

It's not a general issue, but a problem with certain parts. Wheels in particular misbehave badly. Anything attached to a hollow part will also be a problem to offset, because the game tries to stop you floating a part in thin air in the middle.
