KSP with VR using Google Cardboard?

I oddly remember seeing a thread about KSP VR a while back but seeing as it's gone I'll make a new one especially since this one might be a bit different. What I'm after is some way to use my Google Cardboard with KSP on my PC so I can get cheap VR. Even if I have to have my phone physical connected to my PC via USB I'm willing to do it, I'm just wondering what's the suggested method. I have done some reading online and the solutions seem dubious, so I'm uncertain as to the legitimacy of some of their methods so I come to this community and ask what do you suggest I do to get my Iphone Google Cardboard to be KSP VR?

Ok so far... Aside from the limited stream times (which if I end up liking this I will pay for). 

However it doesn't track movement... Do I have to enable TrackIR in KSP and in Trinus?

I think THIS is the thread you're looking for?

I actually took a stab at it with my gear vr but in the end the UI is just too tiny for the most part too actually be able to use components like the map and maneuver planning, VAB/SPH, KSC, etc. There's a pretty detailed description in that thread.

Well the VR would be for in flight. Mostly aircraft as they don't need map view.
