has anyone made a ship that can go so fast.... it literally goes STRAIGHT up.. into the moon... then has to slow down and land?

if this is possible i would like to make it a challenge, thats why im not posting it there because im not sure..

yeah done it before, its actually pretty easy. tho I did my deceleration in a rather extreme fashion

All you really need to do for this is start your rocket at EXACTLY the right moment. Similar to leading a shot in any game that doesn\'t use hitscan.

now I\'m imagining going to the mun with a hitscan rocket. damnit.

Use the old SRBs for this, they give you a really nice vertical trajectory, all the way outta the solar system

No need to slow down! Just collide with the mun in style. Far more exciting/explosive.

Yes this is very easy to do, it\'s just inefficient.

This is how my friend was trying to do it when he introduced me to the game in 0.14. Then I picked it up and told him how to use prograde ;P

He\'d warp to night and try to fire straight into the moon. He came within about 1,600Km but never quite got it until I told him how to use orbit to toss himself into a proper landing. I wanna see someone do it though. I just don\'t have the patience or accuracy.

Using some staging, I got Kerbol escape with 14 of them! And all I did was fly straight up!
