Kerbals stranded on complete/broken ships. Mod Idea

Have you noticed that when you rescue a kerbal, the kerbal's ship doesn't even look like a ship? It is just a single crew-able module.
Would it be possible to make a mod that had a few pre-made ships(in an inoperable state) that could be spawned instead?

 

If so, my mod request is to make a few sets of similar looking ships. These vessels should be similar in order to represent various fictional space programs.

Then we would need to recode the recovery missions, such that they spawn these new rescue missions using the new pre-made ships.

We can even have it select the pre-made .craft files from the gamedata folder in such a way that allows others to add new fictional agencies.

 

Would anyone be interested in this idea?


For the name, I would suggest :  S.O.S. (Assuming it isn't taken)
