Model import orientation problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've been experimenting with some modelling and importing it into KSP which should result in a whole bunch of new aircraft parts

However while I'm testing importing my untextured Blender model into unity the orientation is all wrong and I can't figure out why

So here's what happens:

1. I made a model in Blender

2. Exported it to .OBJ

3. Drag it into Unity 2017.1.3f1 (Can't find the p1 version specified in the KSP-part tools, but seems to work fine and produces no errors) and follow the steps outlined in this tutorial: https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/129355-strykers-modding-tutorial-videos/

4. Set up a Config file (just copied it off the MK2 Cockpit and fiddled with the attachment node, but nothing else)

When I load it into KSP 1.7 instead of being in the correct orientation, it loads with it's axes wrong (X=90, Y=180, Z=0 degrees rotated)

I've tried rotating the model in Unity, doesn't help (attempted it through various menu's, no effect on any of them)

I've tried rotating my object in Blender and rebuilding it in Unity, no result

Does anybody have any idea why this happens? Can someone tell me how to fix this?

Ok, never mind, got it fixed by just completely restarting the model in Unity

If you experience this, rotate your model in Blender, then restart your part project in Unity from scratch, it should work
