Edited .cfg not updating in existing game.

Recommended Posts

To be specific, I'm making a custom set of procedural parts tanks (with the configs generated by parsing the Community Resource Pack resource config.) I created them and they worked fine initially. I'd forgotten to add a resource though, so I added it after the fact... and it isn't showing up in-game.

I've removed the PartDatabase.cfg and the MM part cache (just in case, even though these are non-MM configs,) but the parts still won't update even after removing and readding them in the VAB. What am I missing?

I am, of course, dumb. Turns out I was missing a heading for the resource tank, and what was throwing me off is that the math I was using to populate procedural tanks is wonky too.

Turns out that inverting density and making that "unitsPerKL" or "unitsPerT" means that a tank with a particular size will weigh the same no matter what resource you put into it. What is actually correct in the most technical sense is "all tanks are 1000 units/kL" based on the CRP resource .cfgs defining volume (i.e. liters/unit) as "1" for everything.

argh.
