Map automatically zooms out

Whenever I go into my map it just zooms out. Like all I do is go into the map and it starts zooming out and in order to counter it I have to start zooming in slightly. Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

On the console version? It could be a faulty controller. It's pretty common for PS4 controllers to send ghost inputs from either the analog sticks or triggers.

Does it stop if you switch control schemes, or if you press in left stick to bring up the cursor?  Does it stop if you use a different controller?
