Building a space station with a Saturn 1B approach.

I know people like building massive all in one ships but I’m thinking in more the lines of a career mode with out reverting. So in that case is building a space station in the Apollo Saturn 1B configuration the best sorta like from the eyes turned skyward novels?

Not sure what you mean by saturn 1b configuration for the station, but for the vehicle,  you might get better bang for your buck for a custom built Saturn-derived vehicle.

Which Saturn-derived vehicle.  Like the multi body configuration?

You could use a 2-stage Saturn V like the Spacelab missions used
